I've noticed that they work, but intermittently.. I have to restart the device, plug in and our consistently, and then sometimes and randomly, one or the other will connect. (I am using 2 controllers).

@RustyMG By the way: If you mean Sir Spikeout...does not work, too ;-(

@zing many thanks for such a detailed response. For now I have put the IPAC in to dual controller mode and everything seems to be working fine. I will work my way through those links to find a more permanent solution.

just for checking i nstalled retropie and there it worked great i prefer recalbox but i try it just to check that the problem is softwre hope you can help me

I think there were some really strange Pi and CRT issues being reported on the Discord English support section. Prob worth joining the group and having a look back...hmm..maybe upto a week or so. 👍

I think the path has changed between the latest versions of Recalbox, I saw a similar issue with LEONA's DLC in Metal Slug xx:

But from what I've seen, for some reason they don't work in all games:

I tested the 99 lives cheat on Metal Slug xx and it worked, but I couldn't get it to work on Jetpack Joyride for example (I don't even know if there are cheats for this game).

I don't believe it's a Recalbox bug, it seems to be a problem exclusively for you, as I don't see reports from other users.

but I would need to have some bread crumbs for what to investigate.

Use the latest official version, and the default theme and then check if it happens again, if it happens, open a new thread with as much information as possible.
Also test with another joystick if possible, intermittent errors can be caused by some bad hardware contact for example (I'm not saying this is the case, but it's a possibility).

I used this pad just fine on my older 2018 Recalbox build. I guess the older Recalbox didn't care about D Vs X Input modes back then. And i had completely forgotten about that D-X slider switch.

Updating from any version to 7.0.0 minimum is impossible. You need to do a fresh install. The system in version 7.x is not designed to perform an update from any previous version.
