Have a similar issue with a couple 4:3 monitors and my main Panasonic TV, and it only seems to happen with a raspberry PI.

I've tried messing with the EDID parameters etc.. to get an under scan, but it never works right..

Quick solution is to use integer scaling for all games of the affected system, and you'll end up with the whole image visible and some under scan.

The best solution is to use a custom aspect ration, keep the integer scaling on, this will keep the image centered so you don't need to play with those setting to center anything.. make sure you start with the "core provided" then switch to custom and just knock off about 10% from the width and height that appear as default values.. You can also play a bit to get more screen coverage while the image still looks good..

Once you're done save the changes as a "game override", so each time the game loads the parameters loaded..

Only issue with this method is you need to do this for each game..

In addition to the "Raspberry Pi Imager", the "Rufus" (https://rufus.ie/) was also used to apply the system image to the SD card. The 2 SD cards had the same effect. On some installation attempts, randomly, not even the system configuration screens were displayed.

When Kodi powered up, the control was inoperative. Using a keyboard allowed navigating Kodi and exiting.

Reapplying version 7.2.2 (on either of the 2 cards), none of the effects mentioned above appeared.

Unfortunately, the downgrade will be necessary in my case. I hope the next version will fix these and other issues that I couldn't detect.

mais je trouve dommage que lors de mises à jour majeures, une version précédente ne reste pas disponible, ne serait-ce que quelques semaines.

Nous pensons qu'il est dommage que les utilisateurs ne participent pas aux tests des versions BETA lorsqu'elles sont disponibles pour éviter ce genre de situation : la version 7.2.2 était disponible en téléchargement avec la version 8 BETA.

Cela éviterait de rester avec un système inutilisable en attendant un correctif, au risque que certains ne se tournent vers d'autres solutions (ce qui n'est pas mon cas).

L'une des principales raisons pour lesquelles il y a beaucoup de bugs dans la version 8 est que la plupart des utilisateurs ne voulaient pas aider avec les tests et s'attendaient à une version totalement exempte de bogues (l'équipe de développeurs n'a pas toutes les combinaisons matérielles qui les utilisateurs ont, il leur est donc impossible de tout tester sans l'aide des utilisateurs).

Au moins je saurai pour la prochaine fois qu'il faut toujours stocker une version opérationnelle "au cas où"

Au milieu de l'informatique, il est toujours recommandé de faire backup avant de faire une modification "au cas où".

Any idea what's causing this?

You probably had a random problem the first time you tried to update (an internet crash for example), and it saved files in the update folder, but corrupted, so it needs manual intervention to work now.

C'est quoi "ça plante", quel est le comportement de ton système ?
Comment redémarre tu ton Pi3 ?
