    • PSP Emulator under new 18.04.20

      Hi All.

Just upgraded the recalbox from previous version. PSP emulator was running well.

After the latest upgrade to 18.04.20, psp games are not launching at all. I could read on the release notes of the version that the emulator core was backwarded to previous version.

Does anyone have this same issue? Is there any bios to add/renew/update for the PSP to run?

All the other sytems are running fine as previous version of the recalbox was.

      Any help greatly appreciated.

      Thanks in advance.

@alvin Yes, the 7.2.2 image was the one i have been using along for the 2021. It was working so fine until i decided to prepare another recalbox for my friend. I bought everything new, and my old nice 7.2.2 image is not working.

I have also downloaded from ***punk site an rpi4 image as well, and don't work at all.

Reading trhough the chat, I guess there is a bug on recalbox 8.0.2.

    • RE: Recalbox 8.0.2 - Rpi4 2Gb Rev 1.5 - Bluetooth Issues

Updated rpi4 firmware and did a new clean install of recalbox 8.0.2.

Nothing included but the base install...no bios, no roms, nothing.

Tried to pair Bt controller without any avail. No driver worked (shanwan, official or bluez). ERT was disabled.

Attached the recalbox.conf if its usable. This is the log of the process:

Installed recalbox 8.0.2 (clean and clear installation, no bios, no rom, nothing on it but the default installation)

Now on to try to pair the controllers, the process will be as follows:

      a) Connect controller (PS3 clone) with cable to the rpi4 2gb v1.5
      b) Controller starts to blink (4 leds), recalbox notifies "GUO HUA PS· Gamepad has been plugged in."
      c) Press P3 Button (central one) for five seconds -> Leds change from 4 leds blinking to only 2 leds blinking
      d) Disconnect controller form the rpi, recalbox notifies "GUO HUA PS· Gamepad has been unplugged!"
      e) All four leds start to blink in the hope of pairing (it previously on recalbox 7.2.2 only took two seconds to stop blinking and pair)

      Lets go!

      1. Try to pair BT controller with a base recalbox --> FAILED
      2. Edit recalbox.conf and reboot before trying again -> FAILED

    • Recalbox 8.0.2 - Rpi4 2Gb Rev 1.5 - Bluetooth Issues

      Hi all.

I bought a new rpi4 2gb and had lots of troubles. After asking the vendor, he confirmed that rpi4 2gb has moved from v1.4 to v1.5.

This is perhaps the cause of all the issues i had:
1- I tried to use my old 7.2.2 recalbox image on the new purchased pi, it threw "bad .elf" file with a black screen without even launching recalbox.

2- I donwloaded the new 8.0.2 recalbox version and burnt it. I then proceeded to run it on my new rpi4 2gb (version 1.5) and everything seems to be fine.

3- When I try to pair my BT controller (PS3) as usual, the recalbox refuses to pair.

4- I have tried to change the controller and none of the 4 I have work (different vendors).

5- I have edited recalbox.conf and tried all different driver combos (shanwan, bluez, official). None work.

6- Audio using bluetooth seems to work. Recalbox connect to my BT speaker.

Any clue or guidance on this? Do you have any problem similar to this?

      Thanks in advance.

    • RE: N64 - RPI4 - Recalbox 7.2.2 - No OC

@countertop Unzipping the games solved noboot problem on glide64mk2, gliden64 and n64. Games are still unbootable on parallel_64. Also in n64 I get only audio output and no video. Average performance is better with glide64mk2.

      No OC at all.

    • N64 - RPI4 - Recalbox 7.2.2 - No OC

Hi all. I am trying to create the most stable smooth n64 emulation for my system.

Ther is no OC involved, even my system has cooling and could go with basic OC if ist safe enough.

If I go try to choose a different core for any game on my N64 rooster, it seems that only two are able to launch the game:

      • LIBRETO MUPEN64PLUS_NEXT (DEFAULT)
      • LIBRETO PARALLEL_N64

These two seem to launch games. The parallel seems to be better but with graphic glitches (Zelda oot has some that are bad), so this is why i was trying to launch any of the other two

      • MUPEN64PLUS GLIDE64MK2
      • MUPEN64PLUS RICE

These last two don't work with any game. I don't know if I am doing something wrong just going over the game->start->edit game->lauch with-> choose core.

Any insight on this and suggestions on how to improve N64 over rpi4 (overall zeldas and mario) is greatly appreciated.

      Thanks!

@zing Thanks a lot for your help, will try everything.

On the other hand, I am also trying to optimize N64 and PSX.

Do you know if overcloking does it and its safe with all the other games? Any other suggestion for N64 lag or PSX better graphics?

      Thanks.

@zing Thanks for your help first of all.

I did reset controllers and still the same issue from time to time (its happening without any trackable time).

What is the ERTM option for?

I did try all the drivers, but none seems to work perfect but bluez.

Is there anyway to activate log file so I can track any error on the Bluetooth behavior?

If I use dmesg I don't get the driver from the controller. I can't know if other drivers will work, but only bluez seems to do anything.

      Thanks!

PD: These controllers were working perfectly until update to 7.2

    • PS3 Bluetooth generic controller unpairs after 10 minutes playing

      Hi all.

I am using Recalbox 7.2.2 over my RPI4. As I understand, my generic PS3 controller is using BT 4.0 as the rpi4 is doing.

I am using "Bluez" driver on the recalbox.config as this is the one working on the controllers. ERT is enabled as well (I don't get what the purpose of this parameter is).

I am playing fine with all the games but the controller suddenly freezes and it doesn't work no longer until a hard reset on the system. Ther is no message like "controller disconnected" or something when one of the controllers goes out of battery.

I alwasy play with fully charged controllers, but they keep unpairing from time to time without any notice.

Any suggestion? Anyone with the same issue? Any clue to proceed?

      Thanks

    • RE: Recalbox 7.0 on RPi4 - N64 not working for me

I do have the situation whith N64 on recalbox 7.1.1 that i can only choose between the libreto emulators. i mean, i only see 3 emulator to choose: libreto mupen64lplus, libreto parallel_n64 (wich doesn't work with any rom) and libreto mupen64plus_necxt.

Is there any other emulator to choose for n64?
