@substring Is there a way to change/customize the splash screen? Or change the music?

RE: Raspberry Pi4 released - 3 times the performance.
@ivwshane said in Raspberry Pi4 released - 3 times the performance.:
When the pi3+ came out it was said that a total rewrite of the core was required (I may not have the terminology correct). Are we looking at the same type of rewrite required or will this be something akin to recompiling the code to recognize the new hardware?
^^ This is entirely new hardware. Different CPU, Different Ram, etc. And since the Recalbox crew took like a year to make it compatible with the Pi3b+, I don't expect Recalbox to work with the Pi4 for a long, LONG, LOOOOONG time.
But when 2020 or 2021 rolls around and Recalbox does finally become compatible? I'm sure it'll be amazing!
Also this claim of the Pi4 being compatible with existing Pi products? Horsecrap! None of the existing Pi3 cases will fit, none of the existing Pi3 software will work, etc.

RE: RaspberryPi 400 compatibility
@VincentPreis said in RaspberryPi 400 compatibility:
D**ned , already bought one and had the same unlucky experience. I thought itβs based on Raspberry Pie 4 (00) and would work.
Even though the improvement is minor, a +300mhz speed increase, it's probably still a DIFFERENT processor. And Recalbox will probably need to be programmed specifically to run on it. Give it time and leave the Pi 400 in the box till that faithful day arrives.

Retroflag NESPi case Lightning bolt/Undervoltage warning Easy fix! Mackertop 3Amp Power brick!
So for those not aware, the company Retroflag released what, in my opinion, is one of THE best Raspberry Pi cases ever! It's basically a near perfect replica of the NES Classic. In terms of looks, plastic quality and features, it's pretty High-Quality. I've even had some friends over that were fooled thinking it was an NES Classic, until they looked closer and saw the Retroflag logo.
Problem is, this case is also pretty infamous for it's pesky Lightning Bolt/Undervoltage warnings. The theory being that, the wiring used in it's construction isn't up to spec to carry the power needed for the Pi. Not sure how much truth there is to this.
Long story short, back when i first bought this case a year ago, i was still in the process of building my own personal, glorious Recalbox image. A project i recently completed and now it's time to get down to the gaming, right? Wrong. Constant undervoltage warnings no matter what i do, and Pi throttling CPU power back, neutering my gameplay experience. I thought maybe i had a defective Canakit 2.5A power brick and heard others fixing this problem, simply by buying a stronger power supply.
(3) different power bricks later, two of which were 3Amps or over. Failed. Just when i was ready to chuck this case in the garbage, i came across the Mackertop 3Amp power brick on amazon and numerous reviews saying it fixes the lightning bolt icon. So i gave it a shot and Perfect! Undervoltage warnings GONE. Even when overclocking to the max 1375Mhz in Recalbox. Better yet, i tried loading and playing back stuff on an External Western digital hard drive that is powered entirely through USB port. Handled it like a champ! No undervoltage warnings or CPU speed throttling, even when overclocking and using a USB powered hard drive.
Just a heads up for my Fellow NESPi fans. Here is the Amazon link for the Mackertop 3Amp power brick i'm using:

Installing Older Final Burn on New Recalbox version?
So a while back when i was setting up my Vanilla Raspberry Pi 3 system, i had an older version of Recalbox i was happy with and just kept it. Didn't upgrade. Recently i built a sweet, New Ryzen Pc for purposes of emulation, and i downloaded the 64-Bit PC version of Recalbox. Things seemed ok until i saw the older Final Burn got replaced with Final Burn Neo. None of my Final Burn roms from my older Pi3 build(fba_libretro) with work with FBNeo. Is there any way i can install the older "fba_libretro" on the latest Recalbox? I would hate to have to re-do all my work.
If not, is there a page where i can download older versions of 64-bit Pc Recalbox build?
Any input would be appreciated!

Chill out and put your high horse back in the barn, not interested
You said no game worked while only some games didn't, that's called a lie, and that's making people like me lose time trying to troubleshoot a fake issue, which is totally disrespectful
It's called an exaggeration. Humans do it, welcome to humanity. And while many games do work, a decent amount here & there DEFINITLY DO NOT. Which irks me, because of all the time i had put into my older Recalbox build. Anyway, as i've detailed above, that's not my only problem. I also have issues with Recalbox such as gameslist NOT showing up properly, images not appearing, etc. It just seems like it wouldn't be a simple copy & paste to bring everything over from my older Recalbox. I'd really be looking at a lot of work to get everything looking good again.
Like i said above, i wish i could find an older 64-bit Pc Recalbox version. That would hopefully accept a simple copy & paste of my stuff.

I recommend not starting a topic by a lie next time...
Chill out and put your high horse back in the barn, not interested. And a lot of roms do work but.... a decent amount here & there DO NOT work, and that irks me. I put a TON of work into my older Recalbox build. On top of that, is the bugs present where the New Recalbox does'nt read my game information properly, doesn't display all the images properly, still displays games in the list that i've deleted, etc. It's not just a copy & paste thing. I'd really have to put some serious elbow grease into this new build, to bring all my stuff over and get it looking good again.
The recalbox image scraper for example, has always been hot garbage, if it even worked at all. I've spent countless hours on my build alone, just manually adding images and fixing stuff right. The thought of doing that all over again. because this new Recalbox won't read my stuff properly.... blehh.

Request- Playstation 2 support on Pc version, please.
Humble request, can we get Playstation 2 support in the Pc version of Recalbox, please? I know other gaming O.S's like Batocera have it but, Recalbox is my favorite. I don't want to bother with anything else. And modern PS2 emulation is so good that even today's entry level comps can run PCXS2 mostly fine. So Pc Recalbox should have it too.

RE: How to delete games in latest build?
@pitch64 said in How to delete games in latest build?:
there is an option in the menus to hide preinstalled games.
Oh, wow. That seems to have mostly worked. Now how do i get rid of "ports"? The one with quake and such. I deleted the folder, it comes back on restart. Left the folder but, deleted the contents inside, it STILL comes back on restart. Darn.

How to delete games in latest build?
Ok so i just upgraded to the latest build of 64-bit Pc Recalbox. Those built-in games that come with the installation? I simply CANNOT get rid of. Even after deleting them in the file system, and being careful not to delete the actual file folders (so the system won't auto-replace them upon restart). Still, even with the folders empty, those systems STILL show up!
How do i get around this? I love Recalbox but, it's sad something such as this is not more intuitive. I shouldn't need to visit the Official forums for a tutorial on how to delete games.

RE: Gamecube/Wii- What is needed exactly to run?
Found another bug: Gamecube & Wii refuse to load without my gamepad plugged in. Often when adding new stuff and no intent on actually playing anything at the moment? I might not have my gamepad plugged in and just using keyboard instead to test things out. Gamecube & Will? Nope, it auto-kicks me back to the main menu as soon as i select a game. The games only run when a pad is plugged in. I think this is the only system that does that.
I'm using the 64-bit Pc version of Recalbox also. Not sure if i mentioned that earlier.

@Beho said in Gamecube/Wii- What is needed exactly to run?:
@SkullGrin hello. You don't need bios... Bios is just to have boot animation . For me Gamecube works perfectly with Recalbox x64...
Oh, i got it to work now. I didn't do anything besides update Recalbox. Which i already thought i had the latest one but, whatever. I updated when i saw the dialog box pop up.
The Gamecube and Wii games themselves however, are SLOOOW to start up and SLOOOW to exit back to the menu. When actually running the games appear to be fine but, have lots of occasional "freeze" points. Overall, a buggy experience. Hopefully that's corrected in future updates.
My Pc uses a Ryzen 5 3400g w/Vega 11 iGPU by the way (and 16GB 2666mhz, Dual-Channel Ram).

Thanks. I tried some again, no luck. Just kicks me out back to the main menu. My Gamecube stuff has .ISO extension and Wii, has .wbfs also. My games work great using Win10 Dolphin emulator.

Gamecube/Wii- What is needed exactly to run?
I can emulate these systems on Win10 fine using Dolphin. But i never needed any Bios/plugins/etc to make it happen. I just needed the Dolphin Emu.
Recalbox however, seems to require a Bios of some type. I've since made like 7-8 attempts to download bios files from various sites. No luck, i can't get anything to run, and i'm stumped at the moment. Exactly what kind of Bios/plugin files do i need exactly and, where should they be placed?
Any help would be appreciated.

RE: Recalbox Pc 64-bit version, games won't start with USB pad plugged in!
@acris said in Recalbox Pc 64-bit version, games won't start with USB pad plugged in!:
Hello
you need to use D-Input mode
NOT X-Input mode
Check swith button.
check mode on your gamepad, and try again.Wow. That worked. Thanks!
I used this pad just fine on my older 2018 Recalbox build. I guess the older Recalbox didn't care about D Vs X Input modes back then. And i had completely forgotten about that D-X slider switch.
