Tried to make it work with RetroPie and Recalbox as well. No luck with manually adding drivers. Got it working with preconfigured RetroPie 4.8 but... I needed to recompile LCD drivers as well:

Had the buttons problem also. When I pressed D-PAD the menu was skipping three positions.

I'd prefer to make it work with 9.1 Recalbox, but things are as they are. There's no proper support from Waveshare.

@basic Je vous recommande de le tester avec la version 8.0 BETA et si cela ne fonctionne pas non plus, signalez-le dans le fil officiel, afin que les développeurs puissent évaluer :

En rajoutant un câble dans le "hat" des GPIO (5 et 6, mais pas évident de faire passer un câble assez fin sans qu'il casse...), et en branchant un bouton, ça fonctionne. Reste à fixer ce bouton et c'est tout bon.

I didn't managed to make it work, too much errors with the commands inside the install.sh.
I will wait a future compatible version of Recalbox, for now I will try to use it for another project. Thank you for your help !

Check that the diagram of the gpio is identical to the rpi3 b + and adapts according to your model.

Ok so i've been trying what idarius said.

I just let the aspect on 3 cause my screen is 16:9

For the dreamcast emulator and playstation (let's say next gen :p) it works perfectly great !
Better image scaling and centered !

For the rest it's ok, it's just that i think it's a too big screen to play retro games.
The only games who do not fit well on the screen are really old shoot'em up like 19XX

As i want to include my screen in a portable console (that will work like the switch console) i'll try a 5inch screen and give you an update if it's better if you are interested.

Alors j'ai trouvé une solution, mais je ne comprends pas trop pourquoi ça fonctionne 😛
J'ai dans un premier temps mis : global.videomode=default
Mais surtout (car ça ne fonctionnait tjrs pas) j'ai réglé le Shader Sets en mode Retro... et ça fonctionnait !
Alors j'ai dû également mettre un peu plus bas dans recalbox.conf, dans Emulators choices : snes.videomode=default, sinon les jeux snes ne fonctionnait pas non plus.

Donc pour le moment ça fonctionne 🙂

Désolé , je suis tellement dans mes recherches que je n'ai pas détaillé mon post . J'y suis depuis ce matin et j'avoue que je commence à désespérer.

J'utilise un raspberry 3 version B . Avec une carte SD 16 Go .

Donc j'ai installé la dernière version stable de recalbox (4.0.2) sur une carte SD . Le post que j'ai trouvé qui parle de l'écran 5" de la même marque que le mien https://forum.recalbox.com/topic/4539/how-to-config-portable-5-inch-screen-pics-inside

Apparemment l'écran 5 pouces est bien reconnu au branchement , il faut juste lui donner la bonne résolution pour qu'il n'y ait pas de bords noirs.

Quand je branche mon écran qui lui est un 4pouces il s'éclaire , mais pas d'image . J'ai essayé d'ajouter au fichier config.txt les lignes suivantes :

hdmi_force_hotplug=1
hdmi_group=2
hdmi_mode=1
hdmi_mode=87
hdmi_cvt=800 480 60 6 0 0 0

Mais rien n'y fait .
