      Every time I boot a new pi I always attach a keyboard mouse combo to it. It allows me to navigate easier. When I have a problem with BT controller too. I sometimes run into an issue setting a controller up where wrong button was pushed and won't change back or something. I'll use my keyboard and mouse combo to navigate to controller settings and map it again.

      On keyboard
      A, S keys work as A, B buttons
      Arrow keys are direction pad.
      Enter is start
      Space is select
      Page up, Page down are R, L

      On mouse in menus
      Left click is select option
      Right click is back

      @tobiwan_1984
      I've found a workaround, at least partially... If you press both L2 and R2 button, after loading the game, it will work. But sometimes there occurs a malfunction that enables a shader.

      Wondered if you found a solution to this - having a similar issue.

      @darknesscrysis

      Will I need a post-it in the middle of the screen while I play?

      This is not necessary, but if you want something like that, you can create an overlay, a user did this with the MK and MK II moves, and it looks cool, see:

      @zing Oh man. ThanX so much, I'll dig into this. It's very frustrating to have 17000 ROMs and not be able to play half of them.

      @Zing Recalbox 9.2 introduced a new core for Scummvm that allows you to use the D-pad as a mouse, finally everything has been resolved.

      @joey0621 Most users who had problems with controls on PSX, resolved by resetting to factory settings (available through advanced settings), you don't lose any personal files (ROMS/BIOS/etc), but you lose all custom settings.

      @zing Thanks for the answer,

      I will try this as the problem is really annoying. I never had this problem before the 7.2.1... And i use recalbox since 4.3.

      I need this to work instantly for both my Pi3 ( using standard USB Snes controller, and Dragonrise Arcade sticks.... ) to be able to map the Analog on HAt... It works when i do it.. but once save, and reboot, it is not working anymore, and i have to remap again and again.

      My problem is solved !

      The following thread is French but it describes the exact same problem I described here.

      https://forum.recalbox.com/topic/21653/pi4-recalbox-7-x-mupen64plus-bug-enregistrement-du-mapping-dans-retroarch/65?_=1605037947077

      There's a very simple howto at the end of the thread sent by @fanou - which is exactly the type of solution I was looking for - a simple way to configure your button layout for either one specific emulator or even for a specific game.

      Basically it tells you to create the file ../share/roms/n64/.retroarch.cfg, containing the following line :

      input_autodetect_enable = true

      Then

      Start your game Enter the retroarch menu (Hotkey+B while in-game) Go to "Buttons" Reconfigure your D-Pad to : Up = Y- Down = Y+ Left = X- Right = X+ Save remap to Core (here's where you can choose to save only for your game) Go back to and quit game Start game

      Solved.
