It seems you need to include VFS support when building the Kodi from scratch, see this post: https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=341211&pid=2847803#pid2847803 - please enable that in the coming version.

Sorry, but this is a decision that only you can make, really now Rpi4 is not yet supported, and there is no certain date for it to be, I cannot tell you "buy Rpi3 +", because when Rpi4 will be supported, you will hate me ... If you are in a hurry, buy Rpi3 +, if you are patient, wait to buy Rpi4 when it is supported.

If you want help on it, ask galisteo team.

If you want help on recalbox installation, install official recalbox image.

You will get zero support here for unofficial images

@cristian-muñoz Okay, so you're telling, you have the joystick's mapping properly, but have you tried REDO this mapping after discovering that is not working in Kodi?

Also, you seted this control to player 1, but, have you tried to leave player 1 as automatic, and enter the kodi, to see if it works?

Another possibility: you claim that your joystick is a ps3 shawan, did you even try to change the driver in the recalbox.conf file? Enter the file "recalbox.conf" and search for "controllers.ps3.driver", there are 3 possible drivers, and 2 of them claim to work on shanwan joysticks, my file for example is like "controllers.ps3.driver = bluez", but can be changed to "controllers.ps3.driver = shanwan".
