@guile64 it seems that they still haven't solved this problem, not even in this last recent update it had, because my pistol games only open if the dolhpin bar is disconnected, but even if I connect it later, it doesn't work. shot has no effect
solved it... for all people with the same problem... go to recalbox\share\system... edit the config by changing global.ratio to 4/3 .
then restart your recalbox, after you have saved your config of course... now it works fine.
@farbraum That is very strange: I had tested RP9 files with all Amiga emulators. Without success. Now I have tested again. RP9 files work, except with Ambiberry... strange that I didn't notice this earlier.

Have you checked the file “lightgun.cfg” on the system? It governs the controller presets for the automatic lightgun configuration and has quite a lot of notes and commentary which may help you here.

Are you sure you're running the x64 PC-Version of Recalbox?
I verified the option is still there in the latest version 8.1.1:
In Mame OSD you should see the list of games, directly under that list is "Configure options"
Once selected, a small window opens with several options and "Save configuration" at the bottom
