      @zing said in Pi 4 Bluetooth controller range issue:

      Are your dongles on the compatibility list?
      https://wiki.recalbox.com/en/hardware-compatibility/compatible-devices/usb-dongles

      Not at all, only the "Asus USB-BT400 Bluetooth 4.0". But even though the green checkmark, there is note "Works with customizations to the Broadcom firmware - doesn't work from stock." - So it really may not work out of the box.

      Anyway, I have two dongles with CSR-chipset, one from deleyCON, one from tinxi, which worked perfectly in Recalbox versions about 2-3 years ago, even though they are not on list.
      I'm sure this is because they are using the same chipset as other dongles that can be found on the list, for example the Digitus:
      https://shop.okluge.de/digitus-bluetooth-4.0-tiny-usb-adapter-class-2-csr-chipsatz-bluetoothstick-stick.html

      Best solution would be if it's really a bug and I don't even need a dongle as a workaround at all 🙂
      My current workaround is to use the 8Bitdo SF30 Pro only, as it provides a larger range then the other ones for any reason (not as large as before with Pi 3B+ and RB 7.2.2., but sufficient for my needs).

      No BIOS needed for Jaguar at all?

      No BIOS is required for this console:
      https://wiki.recalbox.com/en/emulators/consoles/atari-jaguar/libretro-virtualjaguar#bios

      Used Emulator/Core (libretro-virtualjaguar) is not ready (yet?) to work properly on Pi 4? And/or it maybe will never work properly on Pi 4, because the complex original Jaguar hardware makes emulation quite difficult and/or needs more power for emulation than the Pi 4 provides.

      It's something between these two options, the emulator currently requires a lot of hardware as it is not optimized enough, and maybe Rpi4 will never be able to emulate this console properly.

      It is not so much Windows CE the concern, but to manage the Memory Management Unit within the processor SH4 of the console which is necessary (used also by Win CE). This can be done on a PC but not on Pi because it requires too much resources.

      @jor2404 for the NesPi4Case :
      1/ Connect the Pi4 to the case and activate the safeshutdown button. Use the case manual to install it correctly.
      2/ Install recalbox 8.0.2 if not done lol
      3/ Connect your Recalbox to the internet. Connect in SSH. Authorize partition boot writting with this command : mount -o remount,rw /boot.
      In the boot part look for the recalbox-boot.conf file. Open it.
      Look for the case=none:1 line. Change it by case=NESPi4:1.
      Save the changes.
      4/ Still in the boot part look for the recalbox-user-config.txt file. At the end of the file, add this line : dtoverlay=gpio-poweroff,gpiopin=4,active_low=1,input=1
      Save the changes.
      5/ Reboot, your NesPi4Case is totally operationnal 🙂

      CSL should use CSR chipset, I‘m using the same! Before I tried a Digitus dongle, also CSR. As it didn‘t fit in Superpi case because of its size, I removed housing of both and both modules look quite similiar, just the CSL has a very bright LED compared to the Digitus 😉 Also MAC adress tells me it‘s from the same Chinese manufacturer.

      I also tried an Asus dongle with Broadcom chipset, but here I had same problem like with Pi3 B‘s internal Broadcom chipset: Inputs where much too sensitive, for example at steering at Mario Kart.

      But as discussed, also tried with internal Broadcom chipset of Pi3 B+ in beta and there it seems work fine. (Not too sensitive and also no known input lag of Pi3 B)
      So I hope there is a final version for B+ soon too. I‘m really looking forward because for me there is no real alternative to the really good, new 8bitdo controllers!

      I want to announce that problem is also gone with latest beta. Tried with internal Bluetooth of Raspberry Pi 3 B+ (Broadcom) and works fine there.

      So I'll live without Web-Manager for now... I'll do a clean installation when Recalbox Pi3 B+ version is out and hope security won't destroy Web-Manager anymore.
      I'll mark topic as solved.

      @lhari84 and @eckiles Hi,

      According to this page, your controller has not been tested by the Recalbox team and is not officially supported. However I know they often do their best to add new controllers on as often as they can.

      Could post a support archive ? @Substring could you then take a look ?

      Unfortunately she isn't gothic. But I prefer the tape anyway, I think it's easier to remove 😉

      @voljega
      I have the original Pi-box, because I like the design. As most other boxes (?) it has holes to show the state LEDs and also LAN port is not covered where the LEDs are placed.

      I'm also having the same issues.

      Wii Remote + Classic Controller pairs correctly, is configured and works in EmulationStation. However, it fails to work with games. This is on the latest 4.1.

      I also had an older image of some 4.0 beta where the Wii Remote + Classic Controller combo worked with a bluetooth dongle. After updating that image to the latest 4.1 (to use internal bluetooth), the controller was only partially working. In particular, I had the following issues: 1) games recognized the controller as Player 2 (might explain why it doesn't work with some games), 2) Hotkey button was not working although configured properly.

      Since the controller appears to pair correctly, maybe this is just a configuration issue. Unfortunately, if the controller is not recognized in game (or the Hotkey button doesn't work), I can't even use the retroarch menu to reconfigure.

      The Wii Remote + Classic Controller is such a great combination for retrogaming. It would be really great if someone from the Recalbox team or someone with more expertise could chime in on these issues. Thanks.
