      problème résolu, j'ai rajouté le bios requis par marble madness (atarisy1) dans mon repertoire de rom et la j'ai pu le lancer sous d'autre version de mame (car apparemment seule la 2000 ne prend pas en compte la souris). j'ai augmenté la sensitivity du dial par le menu mame et tout fonctionne correctement. Marble prend tout son sens au trackball.

      I managed to fix this, in RetroArch under Settings, Drivers, I changed Input & Controller to "udev"...... worked perfectly now. Hopefully someone else finds this useful. Thanks.

      @unscathed Did you set whatever is needed to use trackballs in controls and/or core options ? I'm pretty sure mame2003+ supports trackballs as long as you set it properly. For reference, FBNeo requires changes in Quick Menu > Controls (device types).

      Pour info, le "Kensington - 64327eu - Orbit Optical Trackball - Noir/Argent" est pleinement opérationnel sur ScummVM... les tentacules n'ont qu'à bien se tenir ! Seul défaut, la boule n'est pas clipsée / retenue, ce qui est un peu ennuyeux lorsqu'on pose le trackball sur un control panel déjà surchargé de boutons et en pente, de surcroit... Donc pour résumer : RPI2 avec dongle wifi + dongle sans fil mini clavier + xin-mo usb + trackball usb = OK ...après y'a pu de place !

      Adding a trackball would require dedicated GPIO pins and the ability to translate it like a mouse ball.  It's possible and that would be the way to do it, but I don't know how to achieve it directly.  There was a project which I saw someone had built, but I can't remember how it was put together. Now, if possible and if you can get a mouse to work, you MIGHT just see if you can wire a USB mouse board (ball type) to the trackball and see what comes out.  You could even get two more buttons out of the deal if it goes well. With that said, if all of your buttons are GPIO, you should be alright.  If not, you'll need to converse with the MAME designers probably.
