RBX6.1.1 x86_64 Trackball - Mame2003 or 2003 Plus - Pointer moves but no control in-game.

As the title reads, I am running recalbox 6.1.1 x86_64, using a trackball on an Ipac-2.
It is almost impossible to find this answer, but when I start up a trackball style game, I see the trackball pointer scroll across the screen, but it does not control the game at all.

What am I missing?

@unscathed Did you set whatever is needed to use trackb***s in controls and/or core options ? I'm pretty sure mame2003+ supports trackb***s as long as you set it properly. For reference, FBNeo requires changes in Quick Menu > Controls (device types).
