I like it, 480p ES theme is nice, it's pi4 doing CRT so I'm happy with all the work they've put in 😂 CRT Evo on the pi3 is perfect though.. encapsulator to force resolutions like rtype and mortal Kombat, 50/60hz switch and easy to switch cores just pi3 is a bit underpowered for some games. Haven't figured out some of that yet on recalbox and some of it plain doesn't work on a clean install of 8.0.2 but happy days, it's massive progress.

I’ve experienced the “missing HDMI” option when my TV is turned off (or perhaps on the wrong input??) while the Recalbox is booting. Not sure on the exact timing but it’s definitely fixable 100% of the time if the TV is turned on first.

I didn’t used to have this issue before 8.x series Recalbox so not sure what may have changed in I guess the RPi firmware or perhaps the Linux kernel side. I suspect the hdmi_forceplug or one of those boot options will fix the issue but I no longer use HDMI so can’t test.

Heck, you could even use a boot option to lock-in HDMI as the only audio choice if you don’t care about easy access to the audio jack functionality!

It’s still mostly there: when you press Start, pick “Edit Game” (should be the first/top entry).

It might use the full game name and not “Game” actually…don’t have my Recalbox handy to check. 😃

First of all, the image you downloaded is not Pi4 compatible.

Then, Recalbox is not associated in any way with the website from wich you downloaded your image. It contains lots of copyrighted materials!

We strongly encourage you to download, install & use the official image available at http://www.recalbox.com and then, install your game by yourself.

in your "dmesg-Log"

On another Board it says that this is a SHANWAN PS3 GamePad even if it say "Product: PS3 Controller" and "Manufacturer: Sony" in the Log-File

So in the "recalbox.conf" File you must change the Line "controllers.ps3.driver=official" from "official to "shanwan"
and set "controllers.ps3.enabled=1"
You will find these Settings in the "recalbox.conf" File under "D1 - PS3 Controller"

If you don't know, you will find the "recalbox.conf" File in
/recalbox/share/system/.

Did you check the Powersupport to your Pi ?
Sometimes the Pi won't boot if he doesn’t get enough Power.
Is there maybe a yellow Flash in one of the upper corners ?
