    • RE: ⚠️Recalbox 8.x sur Pi3 ⚠️

Hello, glad to help. Faced these issues in my Rpi:

      • Model: Raspberry Pi 3B+, heatsink and fan.
      • SDcard: tried 2 - Sandisk 32gb ultra and generic Sandisk 64gb (both showed the aforemented problems)
      • Sony Bravia TV (Android) 905E model, 720p, hdmi 1.4 cable
      • RPi Font is an original RPi font, never had "lightining bolt warnings" before
      • Logitech Gamepad generic USB wired controller (1 unit)
      • ROMs are located on the network (NAS).

So my previous Recalbox version was 7.XX (the last version before 8.XX). It was working flawlessly, no issues at all. Everything, everything worked fine, no performance issues.

Installed 8.0.2 via PC (using balena etcher) and as soon I pop the sdcard on the RPI3 all the known problems happened:

      • Games froze when launching them (black screen, only the bottom bar of the UI appeared with shortcuts)
      • Background music stopped or didnt even start at the boot
      • Random but very frequent freezes - sometimes games launched and sometimes freeze with the game playing.

So I tried again, this time updating my 7.XX version (which was in another sd card) from the inside of the Recalbox itself. Update process went smooth, but as soon as it booted for the 1st time, same problems ocurred.

This is as detailed as I could. Hope it helps.

    • 8.1 Rpi3 can't find my roms (but does find MAME roms)

So I was using 8.0.2 and all my roms and systems were on a NAS.
Updated today to 8.1 and the only folder (system) appearing is the MAME folder.
The strange thing is the mame rom folder (/mame) is on the same NAS as it ever was and with other systems (ex: /snes, /megadrive, /gb etc) so the network connection and the drive mapping is ok.

Was there any changes on rom folder naming in 8.1? Any setting I should check/uncheck now?

@pitch64 Thank you for the super quick response! I'll wait for the new function. 🙂

    • How to get the Old Select Button functions from 6.X?

I didn't notice when it changed, but the select button used to have a different function (when in gamelists) before being a "Show Favorites Only" button. It used to be kinda like the Start button currently is.

My point is - I used to delete roms from that menu, among other small functions. This option seems to be missing from the "new Start button menu".

Is there a way to delete roms while in gamelists? The only option I have currently is Hide.

Hi guys. Do you intend to update it to v7.0.X?
I have it on my system and I noticed that the "slide" transition is not working properly anymore, the frame moves with the screen and it's a littlw awkward.
      Thanks in advance!

    • Rpi4 vs. Rpi3: Performance and emulator quantity changes?

      Hello.
With the recent implementation on the Rpi4, I would like to know if there are significant performance on the Rpi4 (specially Dreamcast and PSP) and if the Rpi4 supports other consoles (ex: PS2, Saturn, etc).
I'm considering to purchase a Rpi4 but if there are no significant advantages, I"ll probably stick with my Rpi3 for a while.

    • RE: 8Bitdo Sn30 Pro and 7.0.1 RPi3

@Scavy Yeah, it is inside of a plastic case. I'll try to pair them again "nude" (the Pi, not me) and see if it works, but I'm kinda skeptic since I've tried to pair the 8bitdos very close to the case before and also my other sdcard with 6.1.0 pairs them well even at distance.
Thanks again for your reply, I'll keep you guys informed.

    • RE: 8Bitdo Sn30 Pro and 7.0.1 RPi3

@mauline Thanks for your reply and willingness to help.
I did try pairing in android and switch mode. I also changed the line you suggested. But to no avail, ES recognizes the controller on the list of bt devices (correctly, with the correct 8bitdo Sn30Pro and everything) but stays on "In progress..." for a long time and then "Unable to pair controller".

I've tried other bluetooth dongles and also the internal bluetooth. Nothing.
This happens since version 6.1.1. I repeat, version 6.10 works FINE (on the same system, same bt dongle, same board, same everything). Tried the "pair from command line" on 6.1.1 and didnt work, so it will probably not work now again.

I'm stuck on version 6.1.0 only because of this controller problem and it's frustrating...

    • 8Bitdo Sn30 Pro and 7.0.1 RPi3

      Hello,
Again at 7.0.1 RPi3 I'm having problems with pairing 8bitdo controllers.
I still have a SD card with Dragonblase 6.1.0 installed with works really fine with 8bitdo controllers - pairing is easy and it stays paired even after reboots.

But in 7.0.1 I have problems connecting to 8bitdo. The same behavior was present in 6.1.1 (that´s why I was stuck with 6.1.0).

Any way to bypass this? What changed from 6.1.1 onwards that is causing this problem and was not addressed in 7.0.X?

      Any help is appreciated.
