Thanks paradadf, I worked it out, the file I want to edit is the config.txt not the recalboxconfig file as I thought. All I had to do was uncomment out the line about forcing HDMI safe. Once I did this, the system can now display on my HDMI port. yay!

Yes i undst but i dont want have to do it every time. I want for a game it launch genesis plus in US mode and for other game lanch genesis plus in EUR mode etc ... If i set during the game the settings will remain for next game.

Yes you can. Once your game selected in emulationstation, press select to open a menu, and edit the metadata. You can select the emlulator for this specific game in this menu. Save, start, and check in retroarch menu with hotkey+b.
