we are talking about readme.txt files, or bios.txt.
its no sense because these files have all infos, and the infos changes with the update.
i understand, roms, or bios files, but txt?!? if txt file change need to update them.

@gothrek For some reason (or bad luck) your SHARE partition is corrupted, you can connect your HD to another computer and try to fix the errors through windows, maybe it works.
Otherwise, you need to try to access your SHARE partition from another computer (or a Linux Live CD for example), back up, and re-install.
I do not know any other options, if none of this is resolved, the HD is corrupted in an irrecoverable way.

@screech yes i know that i can submit translation, but i talk about an unofficial translation (with google?), maybe in the future just for have a not official translation for tons of rom (translate 1 by 1, 50.000 roms its a bit large maybe in the future we have all roms description traslated but for now the italian community (or other small) its complicated. Well its only an idea.

some thing for the pics, many site have pics but not all site have all pics, if (in the future), we can choice the site, or import a list of sites for check its better ithink, but its just only another idea.

for rescan i know the update features, but its complicate rescan the roms and delete 1 by 1 the pics, maybe (just another idea) a delete option when use the update function.

I use the exact same one, works flawlessly!

@substring i copy all roms (more then 100g) in windows with extend2fs virtual volumes.
i put my sd in my notebook.
