@zing Yes, after each test, I did a factory reset from menu.

Thanks to your link I found something that changes on \SHARE\system.emulationstation\es_input.cfg

I realized that after configuring correctly:
      config.jpg

      This was changed on es_input.cfg:
      ps3-input.jpg

      <input name="r2" type="axis" id="5" value="-1" code="5" /> <input name="l2" type="axis" id="2" value="-1" code="2" />

The solution was change the values of L2/R2 from before the controller config. Restart and Kodi stop muting when pressing L2.

Don't know why configuring changes those values, I did it many times so I'm sure I pressed the correct buttons every time.

Thanks a lot @zing for the patience and helping me. I hope this helps anyone with this problem too.

I've discovered on my own (same issue btw) that Retroarch launches just fine. There's no delay in the launch, it just takes a bit to display on whatever TV we're using. To test that, you can press [Hotkey + B] 2 or so seconds after clicking the game in EmulationStation. When the screen does display, it will display the Retroarch menu. This proves that Retroarch runs at a normal time, and that input is accepted. It's either an issue with EmuSta or your monitor

@rockaddicted Yes both my PS2 controllers have that analog button, but the controllers dosen´t work without it.

I´ve done a little research and discovered that even with original ps1, some games won´t work with multitap ON.

There is 2 not so pratical solutions:
1- Let Multitap option always on AUTO. And controllers on Default.
This will work in most games up to 2 players.
When playing games with 4 players, change the controllers to Standard.
(remember to exit game for the changes do effect)

2- Use configuration per game. But I don´t like to have this ON, because it will create configs for all games you play. Well this is usefull, but things can get messy really fast.

I wanted to know the difference between controller on standard and default, by the word seem to be the same thing. Or if it is a way to leave it on automatic or something.
