    • Recal - Cardboard - Box

      hey mates ๐Ÿ™‚

One year ago i finished all the electronic parts of a "half" portable device (not really a handheld:)). After completion I didn't know what kind of case I want to have so all the stuff laid on my table for over 8 month ๐Ÿ˜„ Then I asked a carpenter friend about a wooden case. But since he is very busy and I have to wait some time to get it, I already started with a prototype cardboard case which looks more or less like the final wooden one ๐Ÿ™‚

I used a lot of wood glue and hot glue to keep the things together ๐Ÿ˜„

    • NintendoRS powered by recalbox

      Dear all

Finally I have my own N64 mod called "NintendoRS" finished ๐Ÿ™‚
I am using a N64 case (OF COURSE from a broken one ;)) and put all the things i need in it. I am using the original On-Off and Reset parts from the case The Reset button just resets the currently played game and not the whole raspberry. Additionally I put two RGB Leds, one for the logo and the other for the status of the machine.
The cartridge is actually a fake, but recalbox does not boot if it is not plugged in (Then the two LED start to blink in red (Error)). During startup and shutdown the LEDs are changing like a rainbow, in ON-state the logo is white and the status green and in standby (when recalbox is shutdown by software, the status is orange and the logo dims up and down like a standby LED ๐Ÿ™‚

To control the leds I am using an arduino pro mini which gets the status signals from the raspberry pi.

I still need to design the final cartridge ๐Ÿ™‚ if someone has ideas, just lwt me know ๐Ÿ™‚

I hope you like my little project ๐Ÿ™‚ Below you see some pictures of it

      Cheers, lackyluuk!

    • Nintendo Adapter Box

      Hi there ๐Ÿ™‚

I know it's not a recalbox itself but a nice addon, so to say ๐Ÿ™‚

I would like to introduce my new Nintendo Adapter Box for recalbox

You can plug in the original controllers for the following systems:

      • NES
      • SNES and
      • N64

and then just plug in the USB cable to your recalbox.

      Here are some pictures ๐Ÿ™‚

    • GPI case mod

      Hi all,
I would like to share my GPI case mod which I have finished this weekend.
All of the modding ideas came not from my side. All the credits go to this indian guy on Youtube who actually modded his GPI case(s) in a very cool way ๐Ÿ™‚ --> Just search for it on Youtube.

On my side I have decided to change the controls to match the SNES and replace the shoulder buttons to be more practical. Actually the most practical thing is the 4000 mAh LiPo battery / USB charger mod which gives it real added value ๐Ÿ‘

I placed the charger in a way that you still can see the charging leds (red = charging, blue = charged) when the cartridge is not plugged. Here some inpiration (Sorry for the bad mechanical work, i have two left hands sometimes ๐Ÿ™‚ ).

    • German Wiki and Mini How-To

      Hello Community

Since the german community is growing more and more I have recognized that a lot of people do not know that there is a German Wiki and also a German Mini How-To.
I see that a lot of german speakers are using the International Forum and looking on google for manuals instead of using the german wiki. 90% of all question could be answered there. For this reason I want to encourage you (The german speakers) to check out this section of the german forum part

      WICHTIGE LINKS.

Here you will find the links to the INSTALLATION, MANUAL and the MINI HOW-TO.

PLEASE check out in general the WIKI PAGES since they are in multiple languages.

      Thank you ๐Ÿ™‚

    • [Feature Request] Battery indicator for GPI case

      Hi all,
First, thank you very much for this really fast bugfix release. ๐Ÿ™‚ So far my GPI case works flawlessly. No problems with the already reported navigation problems (D-Pad).

I came across the question if it would be possible somehow to implement a battery indicator for the GPI case or in general for battery driven recalbox devices.

To be honest I have no idea if this is a impossible idea or could it be an option (for the GPI case at least since). Or if we even miss some hardware on the PCB for this?

      Thanks in advance ๐Ÿ™‚

      Hi @ian57
The command now returns the correct value.

      # cut -d, -f2 /sys/class/graphics/fb0/virtual_size
      600

Here you can see a "original" recalbox splash video. This one is worse than others (I use two unofficial ones, which fits a little bit better).

@ian57 thanks for the adafruit link ๐Ÿ™‚
I have changed the config accordingly (commented also things like

       #disable_overscan=1
       #hdmi_drive=2

Now it looks much better, but still the video does not match the video (at least on the sides) exactly. But it is already almost good.

      Hi @ian57
When I only add this line, the video plays but it is still too large

The command gives the following result:

      cut -d, -f2 /sys/class/graphics/fb0/virtual_size
      480

Here is a link to the display I have:
