      Hi there!
      My Recalbox cannot connect to the Internet as soon as I use static IP by using:

      wifi.ip=192.168.5.235
      wifi.gateway=192.168.5.1
      wifi.netmask=255.255.255.0

      I am pretty sure this is an DNS issue. But cannot find where to set the DNS Server.
      However, by using the DHCP setting it works fine. But I would like to use a static IP.

      Thanks!
      Raketenmann

          Thanks for your quick answer. I didn't know about this article.
          Unfortunately, my router does not offer the option of assigning a fixed IP.

          Unless someone else has a solution, I will wait for a patch or a new version.

          Thank you very much!

            Which leads me to believe that you really have a DNS problem, and that unfortunately the problem is an incompatibility with your modem that I don't know if there is a solution...

            It's an option, but I can't say a new version will solve your problem.

              Hi @raketenmann

              I see many users claiming that fixed addresses do not work.
              I'll check today. Stay tuned.

              David

                It would be great if I could set the DNS in the config file or, even better, one or more DNS Servers would be preconfigured.

                However - I could do a beta test imidiate if needed. Got a backup SD-Card ready to try.

                Cheers

                  Nice catch @raketenmann

                  This is fixed for the next release.

                  Thank you for pointing this out.

                    @davidb2111

                    A new config key is added to address this:

                    wifi.nameservers=1.1.1.1

                    where 1.1.1.1 can be replaced by your prefered DNS servers
