Yes, that's the default view
You can change the color in the Theme Settings menu or simply delete the square.png files inside the assets folder

The responsable for the bad reading and the missing special characters was the font Perforama.otf. So I replaced also in former version 040118 Perforama.otf by Roboto-Medium.ttf in the systemview vertical.xml, vright.xml, vrlow.xml.
And excuse for the digging in your craftwork. But its anyway best.

Perforama.font has no special characters so I changed it in this new version.
I didn't realize it, because I tested here with the special characters for Portuguese (i'm brazilian) and there was nothing wrong
But thanks for realizing the missing special characters.

Perhaps too much changing ? Red text is not really an alternate for white. The problem was more that the text was partly transparent. But german syntax now ok.
PC logo is a little ugly, but I found something in your files that I cropped and adopted :

So for me, just to resume, old version was perfect, with no transparent letters on selection and correct special characters and little more neutral DOS logo.

I must also say, the sound is not an option for me, as with DAC card I cannot regulate the volume in ES. And with time, it will become nerving. So I think not really something wanted by most.

Well, the white text is still there as option - just change in the Theme Settings menu to 'Blue/ White Menu Text' or 'Grey/ White Menu Text'
The PC logo is more neutral... i also made this DOS logo - just rename the dos.png to pc.png on the logo folder

About the sound: just delete the lines below (80 to 82) on theme.xml and save

I'm kind of busy right now ... I went back to my job so I have little free time at the moment
I'm also working on a version for Recalbox of the wonderful theme made by SuperMagicom called Nostalgic
I have a lot of work to do to align all the scrapes in the right place, but everything is going well

bonjour j'ai installé le thème alekfull avec la dernière mise a jour de recalbox, et tout marche sauf que j'ai ni le logo odyssée 2 , ni l'image , ni la musique, pourtant les fichiers sont bien présent comment remédier au problème ? merci

Obviously it is developped for wide screens --> Is there a way to get it for 4:3 screens?

j'ai résolu le problème , il suffisait de remplacer dasn les fichiers sounds, art, art 2, logo 1 logo 2, le o2em par odyssée 2 , voilà et ça remarche

Je ferai aussi en sorte que le logo de la console sélectionnée en 1er plan soit non transparent, car on peut voir qu'il est opaque sur le côté gauche, et transparent à droite... et moi perso ça me gêne.

A moins que cela soit le logo de droite qui soit en 1er plan et transparent.. mais le résultat est le même.

@keltac je pense que c'est celui de droite qui est transparent et ce superpose sur celui sélectionné.
Il y a le même effet sur la wheel et c'est un peu dommage

il est possible d avoir la description en francais sur les image ???

avec la mise a jour de recalbox j ai deux probleme :

• je ne peux pas choisir la prise jack pour le son
• je perds ma connexion wifi
  j espere une correction ^^

bon apres d autre tests je me suis rendu compte que je ne pouvais pas lancer de jeux psp en .cso mais si je met le theme de base ou next level v3 ou SpaceOddity mes jeux psp se lancent et je n'ai aucun probleme de son ou de connexion donc la je voudrais savoir si je suis le seul a avoir ce probleme

Super thème !
J'ai voulu l'installé : j'ai mis le dossier "AleKFULL" dans \RECALBOX\shares\system.emulationstation\themes
J'ai relancé le système, mais lorsque je veux sélectionner le thème, j'ai un écran noir avec la version recalbox en bas à gauche : 18.04.20 et ça bloque sur cet écran.
Comment faire ?

I have the same problem of jellyjam. I've erased the alekfull folder and now recalbox doesn't start anymore.
Is it possible a factory reset or a recovery ?

It's a problem with missing tag in this theme.

the problem will be correct in next release recalbox.
