@ratte You might try without the GPU, core and SDRAM overclock. Just keep the ARM oveclock @1600 and see if you can boot and get something stable. If it is, then start adding one by one the other overclock parameters and check stability. If it's not stable just with the ARM oveclock, then try to b*mp the over_voltage to 6 and check again. If still not stable, then you have no choice and the ARM frequency has indeed to be decreased
Ability of Pi to max out frequency dépends on manufacturing quality. Some batches are really good, some average and some other really bad for overclocking but still within the range of the standard quality specs from the manufacturer.

Hi, thanks for the hint. I know the selection process of the CPU dies. Years ago, I had contacts with AMD and ATI (then still separate) for a computer retailer. Among other things, I have configured test systems for magazines.

The game with voltage and cooling is also fun, only the original heat sink of the PiPlus is a joke.

@ratte yeah but what could we expect more out from a 30 euros board ?
They add more stuff with each new release and keep the same low price so they have to be on the cheap side in order to cut costs...hence the cheapo heatsink but hey it's better than nothing

If that can help, you can overwrite le boot partition (the fat one) with boot partition from "kali-linux-2018.1a-rpi3b+-re4son"

It is the Unofficial Kali Linux 2018.1 Images with Re4son-Kernel.

First, download the image from here :

https://whitedome.com.au/re4son/download/kali-linux-3bplus-re4son/

After extrat with 7zip the img file and after extrat the 0.fat file tou your recalbox boot partition with overwriting the file...

Sorry, a little correction on my previous post because I tryed with a fresh sd card with original recalbox and I tryed to put directly the files on the boot partition an I had a black screen... ...

I do againt my first try and that was okay ...

My friend clone his sd card with previous version of RECALBOX with all his ROM.
On this card, 1st I tryed to boot but I had the yellow Lightning.
After i copy on my boot partition the files from the boot partition of "retropie-4.4-rpi2_rpi3".
I started the PI3b+, and I had 4 Raspberry at screen.
After I copy the files from the boot partition of Unofficial Kali Linux 2018.1 Images with Re4son-Kernel.
I started the PI3b+, and that boot ...

I don't know why that work .. but that work ....

En français, pour être plus clair sur la manipulation :

Mon collègue m'a cloné sa carte SD avec l'avant dernière version de la RECALBOX sur une nouvelle carte avec toutes ses ROMs
J'ai la partition de boot, la partition du système et la partition share où il y a les ROMS.

Je met la carde microSD dans le PI3B+

Je démarre le PI3B+ : j'obtient un eclair jaune en haut a droite
Je copie sur la partition de boot les fichier de la partition de boot de RETROPIE en écrasant les fichier

Je démarre le PI3B+ et j'obtient 4 framboises en haut a gauche.

Je prend l'image de Unofficial Kali Linux 2018.1 Images with Re4son-Kernel
J'ouvre l'archive de kali linux avec 7zip
puis dans 7zip j'ouvre el fichier 0.fat.
Je copie les fichier de 7Zip vers la partition de boot de ma SD

Je met ma SD dans le PI3B+, et là j'arrive à booter...

@voljega a faire fonctionner la RECALBOX sur un PI3B+ car la version actuelle officielle ne fonctionne pas dessus... c'est une manipulation que j'ai trouvé et faisant des bidouilles pour que ça fonctionne

@teknoologik tu bootes sans wifi et sans BT. Et je ne suis pas convaincu du bon fonctionnement du pi derrière

@substring J'ai fait ce genre d' "opération Frankeinstein" il y a quelques temps déjà pour pouvoir amorcer Recalbox sur Pi 3 B+. Au final même si les émulateurs se lancent et que les jeux fonctionnent normalement, on a régulièrement de gros lags bizarres (sous emulation station notamment) qui indiquent tout de même que quelquechose ne tourne pas bien rond :)). Sans parler de l'absence de support réseau qui enlève tout intérêt au système. Ce n'est franchement pas une méthode que je conseillerais d'appliquer sauf aux bricoleurs du dimanche :=))

@acris J'ai pas tout lu .. il commence a en avoir beaucoup dans les derniers j'avai vu qu'ils parlaient d'avoir réussi à boot sur recallbox en charcutant plusieurs système ensemble.. j'ai pas été plus haut. Après comme c'est un poste sur le 3B+ j'avais lueur d'espoir que c’était en rapport même si c'est pas plus précisé dans le changelog // mais je pense que la réponse est non du coup
