I also wanted to disable the splash screen and in my case I ssh'd to the machine, remounted the root partition (https://wiki.recalbox.com/en/tutorials/system/access/remount-partition-with-write-access) and disabled the related init script :

# mount -o remount,rw / # chmod -x /etc/init.d/S06splash

Inspecting the script there seems to also be possible to create the file /overlay/.configs/skipvideosplash to skip the videos, but you should write-protect this file, because it would be erased after the first boot.

If your boot video isn't working, it may be due to incompatible file formats, corrupted files, or incorrect BIOS settings. Ensure the video is in a supported format, check your BIOS settings to enable boot videos, and verify that the video file is not corrupted. @zing You´re a genious!! I edit (previous backup) the es_input.cfg in \SHARE\system.emulationstation folder, change the default value of A for B value and also changed the Hotkey value for the default one, rebooted and voilá!! I have now set my buttons like i have in my old recalbox 4.0 and all of them work perfectly.

This is the config that worked for me, in case someone has the same issue:

Le pi limite lui même l'utilisation la ram video à 1 go en gros.
Que tu aies un pi4 2 go ou 8 go n'y changera rien. Ca restera à 1 go max. Je doute que le souci soit celui de la taille de la ram du Pi.
