    • RE: Daphne - dapinput.ini

      You can also edit recalbox/share/system/recalbox.conf and include de following line at the end of the file:

      daphne.configfile=dummy

      Tip: you can use this on any core should you need to edit its config file and it keeps getting rewritten by the system's scripts.

    • SCUMMVM on RPI4 - how to map mouse axis to Dpads ???

      Hi there, I am using a generic SNES controler which has no analogue sticks, only digital pads.

      On previous versions of recalbox I was able to move the mouse cursor with the dpads. I can't do it on 7.1.1 though.

      I had edited the file scummvm.ini at /recalbox/share/system/.config/scummvm and I followed instructions from scummvm website however no matter what I try, the mouse cursos stays stuck at the top left corner of screen and I cannot move the mouse at all, unless I install an USB mouse and move it, but having a mouse is not in plans.

      So, is there a way to do it?

      Regards,

      John

      Well it seems I had a bad micro SD card. All is good now, thanks and apologies for that.

      @lmerckx thank you, I tried deleting all games and copying them back. No deal.

      The problem is, no matter what games I choose to run, I get a black screen and get back to game selection screen. I have tried several other games and I don’t understand what is going on...

    • Daphne not working on 7.1.1 (RPI4)??

      Hi there It's me again and this time I am having issues with Daphne.
      I cannot get any game to run..

      Example:
      Space Ace

      • ace.zip inside ROM folder;

      • folder: ace.daphne, size: 2.32GB ;

      • command file: ace.commands;

      Content of ace.commands:

      -bank 0 00000000 -bank 1 00000001

      Game won't run.

      I had the same rom set running flawlesly on Dragon Blaze 6.1.

      is there a known issue with 7.1.1 or is it just happening to me?

      Thanks

    • RE: Configurations keep resetting after software reset

      @Zing thank you so much for your time and help. I've ended up going for a new install again. I cannot say for sure what caused the issue, however after a clean install everything went back to normal.

    • Configurations keep resetting after software reset

      Hello there guys,
      I am having a weird issue, happened all of sudden.
      RASPBERRY PI 4, 2GB RAM

      I created (actually my 12y old son did) a custom intro video and deleted the original ones.
      We had a custom game loading screen as well.

      I have edited the file /recalbox/share_init/system/.emulationstation/es_systems.cfg and added FBNEO as an option for Core selection in Mame (because I had some mixed up rom files in Mame folder).

      I had it all running really, really well for weeks until yesterday. Now every time I switch on my RPI4, all configurations go back to stock version (Theme, Videos, Loading Screen and the es_systems.cfg file).

      Any idea why it was working fine one day and got like this the day after?

      What should I do? Go for a clean install?

      Regards,

      John

    • RE: Still sound problems with Atari 5200 and 800 games

      I've found a fix, in case someone needs a help with this issue as well.

      Load a game, then press Select +B to bring up the Retroarch menu.
      From there, press A and go to Configurations > Audio.
      Now set the audio volume and mixer volume to -10.

      Hope it helps.
      Regards,

      John.

    • Odyssey2 - sound issue on RPI4 (Recalbox 7.1.1)

      Hi there guys, I was wondering if someone have come across this issue:
      High Pitch Noise throughout gameplay.

      My rig:
      Recalbox 7.1.1
      Raspberry Pi 4 2GB
      Affected Emulator: Magnavox / Odyssey2

      Just installed games for several systems (for testing purposes only).

      This high pitch noise starts to play immediately after the game is loaded. And that particular emulator barely have any options to tinker with.

      1st time happened on Atari5200 emulator, then I read about this being a known issue. Tried multiple solutions and quick fixes but no luck.

      Regards,
      John

      Recalbox 7.1.1
      Raspberry Pi 2GB

      I can confirm the pitch noise plays on all games I've tried. No matter what (limited) options I change, the noise still plays.

    • RE: Video Snaps transition effects: turn them off

      @Zing sorry about that example, that line does not reflect how my recalbox.conf looks like, which is :

      ## Videosnaps
      ### Delay before videosnaps start, in millisecond. Default: 2s
      emulationstation.videosnaps.delay=1000
      ### Video loop times. 0 = no video. 1 or more = the video loops x times before fading out
      emulationstation.videosnaps.loop=100
      ### Enable videosnap sound/music
      emulationstation.videosnaps.sound=1

      Again no matter if you set it to 0 or 1, no difference - no sound in either way.

    • RE: Video Snaps transition effects: turn them off

      @Zing as for videosnap sounds: turns out setting it to either 0 or 1 makes no difference as no sound is played at all during videosnap playback.

      ### Enable videosnap sound/music
      ;emulationstation.videosnaps.sound=1

    • RE: Video Snaps transition effects: turn them off

      @RustyMG said in Video Snaps transition effects: turn them off:

      Not sure about being able to switch them off, but if you change the delay to something like 10 or 20 seconds, its effectively the same thing - they will never get a chance to play.

      emulationstation.videosnaps.delay=10000

      But I do want to play the video snaps, I was just wondering if it's possible to turn off the transition effect (fade in, whirling etc)

      @Zing thanks, yeah I was aware of the video snap options. BTW, does enabling emulationstation.videosnaps.sound=1 change anything on version 7.1.1?

      As for the "issue" thing; my apologies, wrong choice of words. It is clearly a hardware limitation as I am running Recalbox on a RPI4 with 2Gb of RAM.

    • Video Snaps transition effects: turn them off

      Hello,
      is it possible to turn off the video snaps transition effect?

      Another issue I'd like to point out is, if you set the video snap start delay to zero and scroll very quickly throughout your game list, Emulationstation loads again and you are sent back to Main Screen.

      Regards,

      John
