N64 Gamepad and Libretro Glupen64 (4.1)
-
Libretro Glupen64 is my weapon of choice to emulate Nintendo 64 on Recalbox. But mapping a "N64" USB gamepad is taking me a hell of a work.
The main problem I have is to find a way to separate the C buttons from the A and B buttons and map them then.
Anyone knows how can I achieve that?

@TheMadcore I know the following article is not about glupen, but maybe it can help in some way?
-
@lackyluuk thanks. I already tried that before moving from mupen64plus to libretro glupen64, but didn't work.
-
@themadcore have you give a try to core remap ? no idea if it works in glupen ...
-
@substring yes (if you mean the input config on the quick menu). The options are limited to what I tell, mergin the left and down C buttons with B and A buttons. There's no option to have the C buttons completely separate from the rest.
I know the core have this to accommodate them well to a modern gamepad, where you can have the C buttons on the second joystick, or activate them with a trigger. But make it really difficult to map a real or faux USB N64 gamepad.
Anyway, I know this is something the Recalbox team can't do very much about it, because is something core related. Looks like there's a core option in one of the other n64 cores on PC to have the C buttons mapped separated, but this option isn't on glupen.
Anyway, thanks for the help and your time.

@themadcore on a side note, you could eventually try parallel64 on your PC and check if it does have that remapping option. If it's worh we may add it
-
@themadcore how do you even make it work? (the libretro core), every game crashes on boot for me, I believe mario party 2 works with th Glupen64, but it won't stop crashing

@alanna-lópez I only chose Libretro as emulator and Glupen64 as core as the default Nintendo 64 emulator on the advanced options. Don't have any problem running games after that. Did this on a Pi2 and a Pi3.
@Substring there it is:
And works like a charm.
-
@themadcore that's parallel64 ?
-
@substring yes. You can see on the screenshots in the lower left corner that parallel is the loaded core.

@rockaddicted what do you think about adding parallel64 ?
