Kodi v17.6 build can't read contents of .rar material

Hi,
I really like Recalbox and its ease of use, but one thing bugs me and that's the built in version of Kodi does not support reading of .rar material. I verified that Windows Kodi 17.6 is able to access the same material. Can't install the VFS addon as it's for Kodi Leia+, would be absolutely smashing if .rar support could be added to your version of Kodi 17.6. Would rather want to use your OS than LibreELEC or similar.Using Recalbox 6.1.1, tested on a Pentium G4600 and an Intel NUC, both with the same problem.

@Anders-Northbane Video are already heavily compressed files. There is no gain compressing video using rar, or at most, only a few percents

@Bkg2k yeah it's not really about compression but rather distribution. Can your help me?
And when is the new recalbox going go be released? I'd love to beta test at least the media center / kodi part of it. -

is it in a week, a month or more?also, can you make sure Kodi is built vanilla, so all features will be there which are there in original Kodi?

It seems you need to include VFS support when building the Kodi from scratch, see this post: https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=341211&pid=2847803#pid2847803 - please enable that in the coming version.
