News: Recalbox 6.2, or 6.3, or... well, the next version!

It is known if we have to install it from scratch or we are going to update our 6.1.1 when connecting it to the network.?
-
@wendigor From scratch, since partitions and filesystems have all changed.
-
Will there be any option to swap the A/B buttons to the Japanese layout in ES like in Batocera and RetroPie (A: Select/B: Back)?
-
@Shad0wWare69 hi,
not for instant, but i will suggest it : @Bkg2k -
Is this version released in a few days for PC too?
-

@Bkg2k So, if i remapped the roms, themes, music, etc. to an usb stick, can i use the stick on rp4 too?
-
@Zemus Yes you can, but beware if you plan to use one USB device in multiple Recalbox on different hardwares: configurations are slightly different and you could have unexpected behaviors!
-
If we save off BIOSs and ROMs we will also need to save off config files that we made changes to?
Example: daphne.configfile=/recalbox/share/system/configs/daphne/dapinput.ini
-
@sroach I would recommend to backup roms, bios, saves, and config files.
Then start with a fresh install and restore roms, bios and saves.
Then, test and optionally restore config files one by one, or reintroduce the changes you made in the new config files.Recalbox 7.0 introduces many changes in the system structure, in emulators and in their config files. Overwriting new configuration files with old ones is usually not a good idea
-
I would also suggest (in a later version) for some of the full screen ES processes (scraping, hashing roms) to be minimized to a notification ala Batocera.

Bonjour,
Tampis

@Bkg2k That a great idea, I have a back up and will fresh install on a new SD card and keep my old one around for reference, if I need to go back and look.

Welp, today’s the day. It’s coming out 9 PM (Paris). In my timezone (Chicago) it’s coming out at 2 PM. Just so you can get ready.

Less than an hour to go

It seems that everyone is watching Recalbox 7.0, I'm looking forward to deleting Retropie 4.6
