        Wait for the 4.1 release.

@Roberto-Zubbiani no, you don't. But might need to upgrade your addons for the new version.

I saw a tutorial on how to add the Kodi update (.tar file) to raspberry pi using WinSCP. But couldn't find one specifically for Recalbox. Is that how you updated? If so, what folder did you place the update in? Thx.

As the award next to my nickname states it, i'm one of recalbox dev.

And I'd never ever try to update kodi on my own. You guyz are missing how much RecalboxOS is not a usual operating system. It's an embedded system, aimed to be very light, independant from any package manager, so you can't just take a binary you'd find on the net and upgrade kodi. Kodi is much more complicated than that, and much work has to be done by the buildroot team before we can consider upgrading kodi.

OK fair enough, but how long do you estimate we will be waiting for an update that includes latest Kodi? Not looking for an exact date just approx. Cause if we're talking months, I could just get a 2nd raspberry pi and put new Kodi on that.

@JPMadman79 no date, the upgrade of kodi doesn't depend on us, way too complicated for us to manage that by ourselves. Buildroot just released the packages for kodi 17.1, so recalbox will have it some day.

What's actually required to implement it?

                          I see Kodi has been b*mped to 17.3 in Buildroot - https://github.com/buildroot/buildroot/commit/4f9190f14e821a90cae690b1741eee4efd9b661b

Along with Buildroot 2017.05 just being released: https://github.com/buildroot/buildroot/blob/master/CHANGES

                          Thanks.

b*mping buildroot, which is not on what we're focusing for now. Wait for the 4.1 stable to expect a merge on buildroot that would be the starting point of the next version

                              OK fair enough.

I'm primarily requesting the kodi upgrade as the airplay support in kodi 15 is quite unstable, meaning I'm now having to use 2 raspberry pis for wifi audio streaming from ios.

But kudos for Recalbox. I'm enjoying the support it has and just how well it works after previously trying retropi a few years ago.

It's really nice how stable the controller support is in Recalbox.

Is there somewhere you can reccomend for further reading of how the emulators are supported in Recalbox? Like how to add or fine-tune them? Specifically if using different emulators for Nintendo 64?

                              Thanks again.
