I thought I was doing well getting 66 to work!
That on a Pi or a PC though?
If on a Pi, is there any easy way you can list them for me?
Unsolved MAME appears to be broken in Recalbox 8.

Not working a lot of lightgun games that have worked until update.allnroms verified and fitting on mame version
I. E. Nycaptor, lethal justice, crossbow, chiller, Cheyenne, under fire and so on. about 80%.Only still working are jurassic Park and alien gun

@lucatort I had a reply on Discord.
Poster said that most lighgun games dont work if you have the Dolphin bar plugged in, in the same way the PS1 light gun games in 7.22 didnt work if you had the Dolphin bar plugged in.Im going to unplug it today and try the same games.

thank you very much for the update. I don't know if I understand correctly: so if I start the roms without dolphin bar and then, after the start ,I connect it, the roms work? and can I use the lightgun?
to think that I was behind it for days! -
@lucatort No, apparently the only way to play those games is with a joypad - FAR from ideal, as I only bought the Dolphin to play Point Blank and Lethal Enforcers - both of which now do not work with it!
BUT, I have still to test the theory, and will unplug the bar and try the games as soon as possible.

@rustymg if it's could help you, please consider that point blank (my favorites one) game series and lethal enforce are well emulated and playable on psx emulator of recalbox. Consider also Naomi games are very pretty. I'd like to continue run mame for older games like exidy ones (crossbow, Cheyenne etc). If it will start to works again I complete my working collection of lightgun with more than 100 roms.

With exception of saturn. They are more or less ones indicated in wiki recalbox https://wiki.recalbox.com/en/basic-usage/features/lightgun-on-recalbox/games-compatibility-list
So you should consider emulate snes, dreamcast, nes, ps1, Naomi, megadrive, 3do ( not perfect), sega cd etc.

@lucatort Ah, I was meaning MAME only games. I have lots of others, as my install is 460 ish gig and has over 10,000 games. Yes, I cant get those ones to work either, even with the additional chd file for Carnevil.

I got told on Discord that MAME is indeed broken in Recalbox 8, and the only way for most of the light gun games to work is unplug the Dolphin bar, load the game and then plug it back in.
Far from ideal.I have still to try this to confirm admittedly.

@Bkg2k @pitch64 Well, tried disconnecting my Dolphin bar, and every single one of the 40ish MAME light gun games that didnt work all worked fine with it unplugged.
Im guessing that whatever went wrong with the PS1 light gun games in Recalbox 7 has unfortunately happened with MAME in 8.x, ie Point Blank and all the other PS1 light gun games wouldnt load if the Dolphin bar was plugged in.
Bkg2k and Pit64, Ive included you guys in this post in case you are unaware of this issue.

why did i update? fb-neo games (street fighter 3, ...) crash occasionally, or don't boot (black screen, have to pull the plug)...
everything worked perfectly before.
can someone help? if the solution is to install everything from scratch i will never ever update anything again!

Same Problem!
It's mostly lightgun games, like "Operation Wolf" and so on. I noticed that if I disconnect the "DolphinBar" they work again. I'm back to Recalbox 7.2.2 now, too many bugs in version 8, for example with controllers... -

@retrovadus I don't have a Lightgun so I can't test it, but in the issue you opened you mention that you have MAME 2003 plus and MAME 2010 ROMS, but do you have them separated into folders with a Configuration override file?
If not, can you try to do this?
