Solved What is the correct folder for FBNeo roms?
-
I have a romset for FBNeo and initially i put it in the share/fba folder but Recalbox runs these games with FBA2X and does not allow to change the emulation core. So i decided to put the roms in the share/mame folder but i had a similar problem. Recalbox only allowed to choose MAME cores. The only solution was to put all the roms in the share/neogeo folder, so the games work through FBNeo and i can choose between MAME cores or FB2X. However, that would not be correct. The mame, fba, neogeo folders can contain the same roms as they are basically arcade games but Recalbox should not limit the choice of emulation cores just because a rom is in the x or y folder. I understand Recalbox to limit the choice of cores as ex. allow only the Snes9x core to be chosen in the Snes games and not PicoDrive but in arcade games that may be in more than one folder Recalbox should allow the user to choose between any of the available arcade cores, regardless of which folder that game is in.

@ismaiden666 please use fba_libretro.

@paradadf Well, after two unsuccessful attempts to change the folder i didn't try to put the games in share/fbalibretro. It may be the solution but will Recalbox allow me to choose between all the cores of arcade emulation or will it again limit to mame or FB2X cores only? Anyway, my observation about this should be considered for future versions of Recalbox. I got confused, other users will too.

Place your ROMs I the folder named fba_libretro. There a few core options to choose from from there for Final Burn Aloha and FB Neo games,

@ismaiden666 there is a _readme.txt file inside every rom folder that should be of help. Also, the wiki is useful. And the are plenty of forum posts about all these. Anyway, we are always trying to be easier... so do expect some updates in this matter in coming versions ;).
