Can't start pbp files in psx emulator
-
Hey all,
im using Recalbox 6.0 on my Raspberry Pi 3b+ and I can't start pbp PS1 Roms. As an example here is the output from the logfile of the psx emulator:Powering on HDMI with explicit settings (CEA mode 4)
Powering on HDMI with preferred settings

uncompress failed with -3 for block 1, sector 16I've converted the bin/cue files with psx2psp. Maybe Ive used wrong settings? The bin/cue File(s) works fine in the emulator.
Did anyone of you have a clue for me?
Thanks in advance. -
@murmelbahn If ROM worked before converting, you converted wrong. Look for a tutorial on youtube, you will find several.

Recalbox 6.0
Just a quick question as my problem is somewhat similar.
I am using official PSN .pbp files (just the .pbp file not the whole game folder) from my psp and only those seem not to start on the Pi (they work on the PSP thou). -
@mrayzarc I'm not sure, you have not even made it clear what Rpi you have, according to the Wiki, it only works on Rpi3 / 3 +, and slowly:
https://github.com/recalbox/recalbox-os/wiki/Board-Compatibility-(EN)
I do not know if it's all the games that run, I think not, and I've had problems with the PSP not working in the previous version of Recalbox, what I know is that it is not recommended to have many systems, because it overloads VRAM, and the theme should being at maximum resolution of 720p for the PSP to work.
Some people use PSP ROMs on a USB stick, so you do not have the problem of having many systems together ... -
@zing I am using a Rpi3 and the games i am trying to get to work are not psp games but PS1 Classics (mostly those that are multi disk games Like the FF titles).
The Games i tried were german version of the tiles (downloaded on my PS3 and transferred to my PSP) only my Physical Copies i converted (which are English) work fine. -
@mrayzarc Oh, sorry about the confusion! If it's PSX, do you have the correct BIOS? Look in Recalbox Manager to ensure.
But you mentioned that the German Roms were not recognized and the English were, if I am not mistaken the requested BIOS is from the American version, I do not know if that is the problem ... -
@zing I will try to add the pal bios as the one i have right now is the SCPH1001 bios.

I have added tho other BIOS files that recalbox has listed and still the same outcome with the Official PS1 Classics.

@mrayzarc
Maybe the german versions have copy-protection and that's why they do not work?
For some games, that have LibCrypt protection, you need the corresponding .sbi files

@mrayzarc create a new .pbp file with psx2psp tool, [do not add extra pics etc like psp imports] (also set compression level to 1=worst) I don't think bios files load from the system folder when you are running a .pbp file, the main reasion is emulator cannot recognize correctly the pbp extention to load the bios file for the games.. which means in specific certan game you may have problem with saves or memory cards, (bios side problems)
.pbp file should load even without bios files without triggering problems..
But yes bios files recommented so place them into folder just in case.also i cannot understand why you have all that huge file name for a single game
" 007 - Der Morgen stirbt nie.PBP[pbp]. " go for "007_DER_MORGEN.PBP"

@neonstation in my case it is not the issue of converting psx2psp.
I tried to load official pbp files downloaded from PSN (games i bought) that did not run. -
@mrayzarc Backup and do a clean install, with the latest official version of Recalbox, and test. If everyone succeeds and you don't, it indicates that you have modified some configuration that we don't know which one.
-
@mrayzarc you have to decrypt official psn games for them to work

@zing Like I mention in a previous post here I do not have this issue when I convert my own games with psx2psp only with the ones from the store.
