Solved Highscores for street fighter 3 third strike
-
@barbudreadmon
Yes my hiscore.dat is in that place. and it is activated in the core options, still it doesn't do.
I'm gonna search for a newer version of FBA.
Thanks -
I looked a bit around and I think my version of fba (2.97.43) is the last one so i misunderstood : the thing I have to update is my retroarch.
I just read this : https://forum.recalbox.com/topic/8801/update-retroarch-is-it-possible-how-to-do-it
Is there any tutorial for compiling it ?
I use lubuntu so I already compiled once or twice but I'm not sure about how that works with recalbox.
Thank you for reading -

Make sure you have the hiscore.dat file in your
[system]/fba/
folder ([system]
being your bios folder), and that you enabled hiscores in the core options.Yes I think so the path is : "recallbox/share1/bios/fba"
And I just made a few more tests : my autosave works but the autosave is deleted if I open the game in netplay or if I load a previous savestate (witch was predictable)
-
As i said, there are 3 conditions and only those 3 :
- having a recent enough fba version (later than january 2018)
- having the core option enabled
- having a valid hiscore.dat in
[system]/fba/
You said you meet those 3 requirements, however it is 100% sure you are wrong somewhere. You can try updating retroarch all you want, it won't change anything.

Ok thanks, I'm gonna do it all over again from the beginning. I'll post the results when I'm done.
-
Ok I just did it.
My hiscore.dat file was not valid.
Now it works.
But the highscores are erased if I load a savestate, is there anything I can do to be able to load a savestate without erasing the highscore ?
Thanks again for your answers and all the work there is behind. -
@thomasdubois no, a savestate is a full picture of the full memory of the game, so off course what was saved as that time as scores are retrieved along the rest

The file that worked for me is the "old format hiscore.dat" as indicated in the manual
https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/lr-fbalpha
And I placed it in [system]/fba/ folder ([system] being my bios folder)
As indicated by barbudreadmon above.
Thanks a lot to you all and see ya ! -
@thomasdubois that file is there by default in the newest beta. It should work ootb.

Newest fbalpha support any version of this file, it might be that the fbalpha version packaged in your recalbox is too old.
