    • Using Hotkey from player 2, 3, or 4?

      I have a USB controller that I use to control Recalbox menus, etc. I also have an adapter that lets me use a real NES/SNES controller. When I set the NES controller to player 1, I can't exit the emulator (without a keyboard) from the other USB controller that is set as player 2.

      Since there aren't enough buttons on an NES controller to allow for a Hotkey, is there any way to allow the use of the Hotkey and controlling menus from a controller set to player 2, 3, or 4? Or...am I stuck having to keep a keyboard plugged in? Thanks!

    • RE: Sega Genesis Mini 3 Button USB Controller Configuration

      I found a solution!!!

      For anyone who also wants to use a 3 button Sega controller, there is an option in the Retroarch menu under Settings—>Input—>Menu Toggle Gamepad Combo. You can set it to Hold Start for 2 seconds to bring up the Retroarch menu.

      I’m still waiting on my controllers to be delivered, but I would imagine that I’ll also need to edit the Recalbox controller config file to remove the Hotkey from my 3 button Sega controller.

      Edit: I just tested this on another controller and it works perfectly! I set the “Hold Start for 2 Seconds” to return to menu option. I then edited the Emulation Station input config file and set the “Hotkey” button to a number higher than my controller had. I found that if I removed the Hotkey completely, Recalbox would then ask me to reconfigure the controller.

      I hope this helps someone!

    • Bluetooth Controller Order (P1, P2, P3, & P4)

      I have several controllers that are all paired via Bluetooth on my x86 Recalbox computer. When I turn on a controller, that controller is player 1. When I turn on a second controller, the first controller gets bumped down to player 2, and the new controller becomes player 1. This pattern continues for all 4 players, with the latest controller that’s turned on, becoming player 1.

      My question....

      Is there a way to reverse the order of Bluetooth controllers? I would like the first controller that I turn on to remain player 1...the second controller turned on to remain player 2...etc.

      Thanks for any help on this!

    • RE: Sega Genesis Mini 3 Button USB Controller Configuration

      @voljega

      Thanks for the input. Yes, I’m seeing that Genesis/Megadrive controllers are tough to deal with.

      I’m using ESC on the keyboard to exit the emulator, and I’m setting the option to auto save/load. Are there keyboard shortcuts to save/load states?

    • Sega Genesis Mini 3 Button USB Controller Configuration

      Hi! I’ve been using Recalbox for a few years now and it doesn’t everything I want it to do...very well!

      I just bought the new Sega Genesis Mini for the 2 included controllers. I really wanted the 3-button layout, but realized that there’s no mode/select button. What is my best option for saving games, exiting the emulator, etc? Should I just keep a keyboard connected for when I need to exit the emulator? I was hoping to set a button combination as the hotkey...or something similar.

      I would think that other people will eventually run into this problem. Thanks for any suggestions!

    • Reicast Dreamcast Rumble/Vibration Enable/Disable Question...

      Is there a way to switch the VMU for reumble support within the Reicast emulator? In Mupen64, I mapped the Mempack/Rumblepak switch to L3/R3, and the rumble works great! I was just wondering if there's a similar way of doing this with the Dreamcast emulator? Thanks!

    • RE: LED w/ Momentary Switch

      The method described on this page (https://github.com/recalbox/recalbox-os/wiki/Add-a-start-stop-button-to-your-recalbox-(EN)) has always worked up until this update. Is editing the Python scripts necessary? If so, is there a guide for this? Thanks again!

      @substring

      Are you referring to the config file? If so, yes, I edited the config file. I tried "system.power.switch=PIN356ONOFFRESET" and then "system.power.switch=PIN56PUSH". Is there are different script?

    • LED w/ Momentary Switch

      I've been successfully using a momentary switch with an LED for a while now, with config "system.power.switch=PIN356ONOFFRESET". I haven't updated since last year, and just ran an update last night.

      After the update, I can still switch the system on with the switch and the LED works, but I can't switch the system off with the switch. I tried replacing "system.power.switch=PIN356ONOFFRESET" with "system.power.switch=PIN56PUSH". This made the switch work perfectly for powering on/off, but now the LED doesn't turn on.

      Does anyone have a suggestion for this? Thanks so much!

    • Set Dreamcast Region?

      Does anyone know how to set the Dreamcast region to NTSC / USA? It seems to default to Spanish / PAL, whether I choose a USA game or a Europe game. I'm thinking there may be some line to add/change in the Recalbox config file, but I'm not sure. Thanks to anyone who has advice on this!
