    • 9.1 Wii Remote Dolphin Issue

      First off, 9.1 is great! The general Bluetooth pairing of non-Wii controllers works very well!

      I have Dolphin set to use real Wii remotes. In Recalbox 8, I would start a Wii game, click the red sync button on the back of the Wii remote, and everything would work great. With 9.1, I start a a Wii game in Dolphin, the Wii remote will pair and work for abut 5 seconds, and then disconnect. After that, I can’t pair it again.

      I’ve tried three different Bluetooth adapters, all with the same results. I’ve also tried deleting the Dolphin folder within the Configs folder…and still have the same issue.

      Is there a Dolphin Bluetooth file that can be reset or something? I don’t know if other people are experiencing this same issue. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated…thanks!

    • Alternate ways to initiate Bluetooth pairing?

      I have four Wii U Pro controllers that I use on various devices. Is there a way to automatically initiate the new Bluetooth pairing on each boot-up, without having to plug in a USB controller, and choosing to start the pairing process? Or…Is there a way to re-program the RESET button on my Retroflag SNES Pi3 case to start the Bluetooth pairing process? This would be similar to hitting the sync button on the Wii or Wii U. Thanks for any help with this!

      I just updated Recalbox to 7.2.2 and the USB WiFi adapter is working! Hopefully this will help someone else who is having the same issue. Thanks for your help!

      @zing
      I appreciate your reply. I downloaded the 7.2.1 x86 64 bit image right from recalbox.com. It is a clean install. All of the USB WiFi adapters I've tried work fine on a Windows 10 computer, but none of them seem to be recognized by Recalbox. None of the USB WiFi adapters have ever worked for me through Recalbox.

      The latest adapter I'm trying to use is the Cudy WU650. On the other PC with an internal WiFi adapter, I can do WPS and it finds the router no problem. On the computer without the internal adapter, where I'm trying to use USB WiFi adapter, The WPS times out right away, and doesn't seem to see any WiFi networks.

      I've tried resetting to factory settings. I've also tried the WiFi On/Off suggestion. I've tried using different USB ports, both 2.0 & 3.0. What are some of the other things I should try, before giving up and running a 75 ft Ethernet cable to the router? Haha

      Thanks again for all your hard work on Recalbox. I've been a big fan & user of Recalbox for several years now.

    • USB WiFi Adapter on x86 7.2.1…not working

      I have two PCs, both running 7.2.1. The PC with the internal WiFi adapter works great. On the other PC, I’ve tried 4 different USB WiFi adapters, including the Cudy adapter that is listed as being compatible. Still no luck.

      The password doesn’t have any special characters, and I’ve tried all the “fixes” I could find in the forum…turn WiFi on/off, etc.

      Is there a process to actually install the USB WiFi adapter drivers, or does Recalbox do that automatically? Any help here would be MUCH appreciated.

      Thanks!

    • Bluetooth Controller Order (P1, P2, P3, & P4)

      I have several controllers that are all paired via Bluetooth on my x86 Recalbox computer. When I turn on a controller, that controller is player 1. When I turn on a second controller, the first controller gets b*mped down to player 2, and the new controller becomes player 1. This pattern continues for all 4 players, with the latest controller that’s turned on, becoming player 1.

      My question....

      Is there a way to reverse the order of Bluetooth controllers? I would like the first controller that I turn on to remain player 1...the second controller turned on to remain player 2...etc.

      Thanks for any help on this!

    • RE: Sega Genesis Mini 3 Button USB Controller Configuration

      I found a solution!!!

      For anyone who also wants to use a 3 button Sega controller, there is an option in the Retroarch menu under Settings—>Input—>Menu Toggle Gamepad Combo. You can set it to Hold Start for 2 seconds to bring up the Retroarch menu.

      I’m still waiting on my controllers to be delivered, but I would imagine that I’ll also need to edit the Recalbox controller config file to remove the Hotkey from my 3 button Sega controller.

      Edit: I just tested this on another controller and it works perfectly! I set the “Hold Start for 2 Seconds” to return to menu option. I then edited the Emulation Station input config file and set the “Hotkey” button to a number higher than my controller had. I found that if I removed the Hotkey completely, Recalbox would then ask me to reconfigure the controller.

      I hope this helps someone!

      @voljega

      Thanks for the input. Yes, I’m seeing that Genesis/Megadrive controllers are tough to deal with.

      I’m using ESC on the keyboard to exit the emulator, and I’m setting the option to auto save/load. Are there keyboard shortcuts to save/load states?

    • Sega Genesis Mini 3 Button USB Controller Configuration

      Hi! I’ve been using Recalbox for a few years now and it doesn’t everything I want it to do...very well!

      I just bought the new Sega Genesis Mini for the 2 included controllers. I really wanted the 3-button layout, but realized that there’s no mode/select button. What is my best option for saving games, exiting the emulator, etc? Should I just keep a keyboard connected for when I need to exit the emulator? I was hoping to set a button combination as the hotkey...or something similar.

      I would think that other people will eventually run into this problem. Thanks for any suggestions!

    • Reicast Dreamcast Rumble/Vibration Enable/Disable Question...

      Is there a way to switch the VMU for reumble support within the Reicast emulator? In Mupen64, I mapped the Mempack/Rumblepak switch to L3/R3, and the rumble works great! I was just wondering if there's a similar way of doing this with the Dreamcast emulator? Thanks!

    • RE: LED w/ Momentary Switch

      The method described on this page (https://github.com/recalbox/recalbox-os/wiki/Add-a-start-stop-button-to-your-recalbox-(EN)) has always worked up until this update. Is editing the Python scripts necessary? If so, is there a guide for this? Thanks again!

      @substring

      Are you referring to the config file? If so, yes, I edited the config file. I tried "system.power.switch=PIN356ONOFFRESET" and then "system.power.switch=PIN56PUSH". Is there are different script?

    • LED w/ Momentary Switch

      I've been successfully using a momentary switch with an LED for a while now, with config "system.power.switch=PIN356ONOFFRESET". I haven't updated since last year, and just ran an update last night.

      After the update, I can still switch the system on with the switch and the LED works, but I can't switch the system off with the switch. I tried replacing "system.power.switch=PIN356ONOFFRESET" with "system.power.switch=PIN56PUSH". This made the switch work perfectly for powering on/off, but now the LED doesn't turn on.

      Does anyone have a suggestion for this? Thanks so much!

    • Set Dreamcast Region?

      Does anyone know how to set the Dreamcast region to NTSC / USA? It seems to default to Spanish / PAL, whether I choose a USA game or a Europe game. I'm thinking there may be some line to add/change in the Recalbox config file, but I'm not sure. Thanks to anyone who has advice on this!

    • RE: Dreamcast PS3 controller configuration error

      I had an interesting find today. I recently bought a Nexilux Game Genie Controller adapter from Amazon for $20, to use my Wii U Pro controller on my PC. Well, I decided to try it with Recalbox. When I connect my Wii U Pro controller to Recalbox through the Nexilux adapter, the analog stick works perfectly! I didn't have a chance to try it with a PS3 controller yet.

      @edvis

      Thanks for that update on your controller. So the problem includes PS3 controllers and Wii U Pro controllers...and only with the Dreamcast emulator. I'm going to pull out an old Saitek controller and hopefully try it out tomorrow. Crazy Taxi & Soul Calibur can be played with the D pad, but Sonic Adventure requires the analog stick.

    • RE: Dreamcast PS3 controller configuration error

      @ishim7924

      Thanks for the info. I did a little more testing and found out that the controls work perfectly if I don't press the analog stick all the way to the edge. As soon as I push the analog stick more than 80% to the edge in any direction, it makes me go the opposite direction on the screen. Is there a way to fix this...maybe by setting the sensitivity or dead zone?
