How is is the Raspberry Pi 3B+ when it comes to emulating N64? I am thinking of upgrading to it, since there are a few games that don't run well on the 3 but work flawlessly on X64.

RE: Adding roms to the boot usb??
What I've done (and not sure if it's completely safe to do) is use a partition manager, format the partition with the remaining space to FAT32 and load the ROMs on that through windows. Then point recalbox to that partition.
Again, I'm not sure if that's the recommended way to do things, but it worked. With that, I am simply a casual gamer and could care less if things got corrupted.
RE: I want to make a real arcade machine using recalbox
Honestly, for the price and headache of it all, you're better off purchasing precut pieces on eBay and assembling it yourself. They're around $100-200 these days. I ordered one years ago, I highly recommend going that route.
RE: Using internal HDD for rom directory from laptop?
I did it a while back. I actually preferred to have it on my USB stick, for a whole host of reasons not really relevant for this thread.
Anyway, I am not in front of my recalbox, so I'm going from memory. I believe you need to go to system settings, select whatever recalbox lists as your hard drive, and you select it. Restart the computer back into your OS (Windows, for me). On the C drive, there should be a folder called recalbox. Place your ROMs in their respective folders in the roms folder. Reboot back into recalbox and your ROMs should appear. Let me know how that works for you.
RE: HDMI will not play sound / N64 emulator issue
Go to Main Menu (Hit Start) --> Sound Setting --> Output Device: Scroll left or right until "HDMI" is selected. Select Close.
As for the N64 Games, where are your games stored? USB thumb drive or the SD card itself. Do you have other ROMs (besides the preloaded ones) and their emulators are showing?
[Bug] Recalbox Crashes when deleting last rom/image
I don't know if this bug has been identified by the developers, but this bug has been persistent through all the versions of Recalbox.
The following description is when you are working within the emulationstation GUI:
So essentially what happens is if you are deleting the last ROM within a system and there are no more ROMs within that system, recalbox crashes. This is definitely more prevalent with screenshots, when you are deleting images. If you delete the last image within imageviewer, recalbox crashes.
I had to disconnect the power since I turned off networking, so I am not sure if recalbox itself crashes, or if its just emulationstation. I can test further if anyone needs me to.
Public Wi-Fi Network Login Page
Before I spam up the gitlab issue page with impossible feature requests, I wanted to throw it by the devs here for their take.
As recalbox has retroachievements and now had added netplay, I discovered an issue for those like me who take recalbox/kodi with them when they travel for work and are stuck in hotels for a while with nothing to do: Public Wi-Fi Network Login Pages (captive portal pages). In order to connect to the internet, you must agree to TOS in a portal page, which recalbox does not currently have the ability to do.
A feature request would be to have an option within the network settings menu to open a very lightweight browser to for the purpose to access the captive portal page. I'm not sure if its even possible within recalbox, but maybe a way to preinstall a browser with a shortcut to an add-on within kodi?
RE: Sandisk 256 GB USB stick to store games, will it work or too big for Pi 3 ?
I use this particular one. While i know its not the size, and maybe a later version, but it works great. Only complaint is it gets very hot to the touch when transferring a lot of data.
As for what miles pointed out, I would NOT use a microSD card. I made that mistake, when I lost everything when I attempted to do an update. While i'm sure there was a linux way to restore all that, it is just easier, safer and cheaper to get one of these tiny flash drives and keep everything everything on god's green earth on it. That's my opinion.
RE: [SOFT] Skraper
Problem with SCUMMVM...and maybe for PC games as well...
When trying to scrape SCUMMVM, it is recognizing all the ROM folders, including SCUMMVM folder, but does not see any games/roms. In my case, each one of my SCUMMVM games and all of their files are in subfolders. I am assuming that Skraper only checks for .scummvm files in the first level directory? Or am I doing something wrong?
