Hi!, Is there a way to write files to the share_init folder permanently?
I want to copy some custom shaders files/presets there and then use the HOTKEY + L2/R2 to change shaders on the fly.
I've copied the files but when I reboot they've been removed, is there a way to mantain them?

RE: Testers wanted: major system upgrade (Pi3b+, KODI 17 and much more ...)
@harko said in Testers wanted: major system upgrade (Pi3b+, KODI 17 and much more ...):
@lhari84 : I confirm that Retroflag scripts are useless since the 18.06.27 stable release. But you have first to uncomment that line at the beginning of your "recalbox.conf" file, by deleting ";" :
system.power.switch=PIN356ONOFFRESET
In my opinion, Recalbox script offers better behaviors with the "reset" switch when you are in game...@cascav : is it possible for you to test one or all of the 4 games I mentioned above and confirm graphical problems on your board ?
Auto Racing, Centipede, Commando, Defender ; or Hover Force (totally glitched during the fly !). I can MP you my list of names for the 55 unplayable games (out of a total of 119 official "Master Component Releases").I've already installed the script, how can I unistall to use default recalbox mode?

RE: Multiboot NOOBs Raspbian + LibreElec + Recalbox
That worked perfectly, thank you.

Multiboot NOOBs Raspbian + LibreElec + Recalbox
I'm trying to make a Multiboot to launch Raspbian + LibreElec + Recalbox, but recalbox doesn't appear in the Network OS's download menu, If I use the "showall" option in noobs it seems to appear, but when I install it recalbox only shows the intro video and then crashes (black screen). I think it's downloading the Raspberry Pi 3 plus version (different kernel), I have a Raspberry Pi 3 (NO PLUS).
Is there a way to install these correctly?
I had success on the past using an old version of noobs (2.4.4) but it's not working anymore, it says it can't find recalbox install file.
Is there a way to obtain this noob install file? (for old pi 3) -
RE: Testers wanted: major system upgrade (Pi3b+, KODI 17 and much more ...)
I understand that, but I would like to restablish the non beta version, but It doesn´t seems to download from NOOBS, it can't reach the server... It seems the file is unavailable

RE: Testers wanted: major system upgrade (Pi3b+, KODI 17 and much more ...)
I tries to update the beta version and it crashed horribly, then everytime I tried to launch recalbox I obtained a black screen with a few lines of error...
I want to try and reinstall Recalbox again but I want to make a Multiboot system (NOOBS) the problem is that Network install it's not working... It says somthing like It can't find the file on the server...
Could this issue be solved?
PD: I'm using the latest NOOBS that incluided Recalbox.

RE: Testers wanted: major system upgrade (Pi3b+, KODI 17 and much more ...)
@substring that worked perfectly, thank you very much!
It seems that the option "Refresh/update games list" makes ES crash too...
For some reason I've lost N64 scrape data and I'm having some problems scraping again... -
RE: Testers wanted: major system upgrade (Pi3b+, KODI 17 and much more ...)
@substring yes, I've tried both, disabled and enabled, but it doesn't solve the issue.

RE: Testers wanted: major system upgrade (Pi3b+, KODI 17 and much more ...)
OK, I've continued testing and my assuptions are confirming one by one, as I told in an anterior post I was using a CRT-TV.
When audio was on I suffered half-speed or worse, when audio was off, double-speed.
So I thought maybe had something to do with analog output (composite audio for CRTs) and sound sincronization.
So I just unplugged everything and went to my HD monitor (1080p) and tried to run the pi there...
Everything worked perfectly, some minor slowdown on the zoom effect on ES when running a game (but something minor) and boot-up videos seemed a bit slow (but something minor, or maybe it's just me).
Anyway games worked perfectly at fullspeed. So If I'm the only one having this issue maybe it's because I'm the only one testing with a CRT-TV, please check it out, thanks!
I think there's something wrong with audio output (composite) and audio sincronization.
- I've noticed another bug, when I choose the shutdown option from ES menu, the pi got stuck on the screen that shows the tiny recalbox logo and the version number, and never goes to full shutdown, you know, when the video output seems to disconnect, it seems to get stuck. I don't know if this has been reported already.
Thanks for all your hard work!

RE: Testers wanted: major system upgrade (Pi3b+, KODI 17 and much more ...)
@substring I'm running on a Pi3 (no plus), audio_pwm_mode it's actually disabled.
But I've tried both, enable and disabled and none is working...#To get better sound through the composite output, enable the experimental audio driver for the raspberry pi
#audio_pwm_mode=2If I leave audio on (dtparam=audio=on), I get this issue that whenever I get audio everything seems to slowdown, if I disable audio (#dtparam=audio=on) games seems to go double speed... ff8 100fps, etc.
I've got a multiboot noobs SDCard, if I boot on Raspbian everything is working perfectly, so it's not a Pi3 issue.
I'll leave the full config.txt here:
config.txt -
RE: Testers wanted: major system upgrade (Pi3b+, KODI 17 and much more ...)
Kodi behaves the same way... basically every scene in which there is sound seems to slowdown, maybe it's something related to the sound driver...
I've disabled audio in the config.txt file and now games seems to move doble speed, Final Fantasy VIII (PAL) moves at 100FPS...
Sonic 3 and Knuckles goes double speed too, N64 too...

RE: Testers wanted: major system upgrade (Pi3b+, KODI 17 and much more ...)
Finally I've managed to update, I had to disable automatic updates too, to be able to update.
The update literally broke everything, everything is playing extremely slow, boot-up videos are extremely slow.
Games are playing half-speed or worse and audio is playing slow and buggy.
The only thing that seems to work correctly is EmulationStation (except audio that is still slow and buggy).
I'm using a CRT (720x576 @50hz)

RE: Testers wanted: major system upgrade (Pi3b+, KODI 17 and much more ...)
I'm trying to edit to:
updates.type=https://review-master-slwsz0-archive-review-prod.recalbox.combut, it's not working, changes are made on the file, but as soon as I reboot it changes to:
updates.type=stable
Update doesn't pop up and can't continue...
I've everything as EXTERNAL, so the file is located in:
media/usb0/recalbox/system/ -
RE: CRT-TV 16:9 - Stretched/Deformed Image
I think I know what the issue is... aparently Retroarch detects the TV as 4/3 even if I set the "sdtv_aspect" to 16/9.
Like showed in this picture:
If I try to use a custom resolution I get this Issue, It appears I loose screen size and got some big black margins, like in this picture:
I've been messing with configurations and I think I'm gonna leave it with a 8/7 aspect ratio and activate the bilinear filter, which make pixels softer and seems that corrects some of the pixel deformation I was suffering...
It's not perfect, but I think I'm getting an aceptable result.
And aparently it seems that the native resolution of the screen is 720x576. If I modify it I get those Issues. -
RE: CRT-TV 16:9 - Stretched/Deformed Image
@Pol Thanks! Yeah I'm using composite output.
I'll try this as soon as I can, but I remember using the other "sdtv_aspect" (4:3) and the problem was pretty much the same, ES menus seem to be affected, but the in-game config seems to be unaltered no matter which "sdtv_aspect" I used.
Anyway I'll try to mess with those custom settings and see If I can make it work.EDIT: Can I make psx and n64 emulators work fullspeed using only one thread?
PD: I can't find the TV remote... so no luck adjusting the aspect ratio forcing it from TV...
-
RE: CRT-TV 16:9 - Stretched/Deformed Image
@Substring Yeah, I thought of that too, but I don't know if I have the TV remote, actually I'm gonna look for it...
-
RE: CRT-TV 16:9 - Stretched/Deformed Image
I've no idea of what a "Viewport" in RetroArch is...
I've found an option called "aspect ratio" but when I use it, it seems to distort the image "droping" some pixels, you can see clearly on the fonts that is not resizing the image correctly.
Also if the screen is set to 16:9 to correct aspect ratio in retroarch I should use 4:3, but thats not the case, I've got to use another aspect ratio like 8:7 or something like that to correct the ratio, and that's when the distortion takes place.
