Hi @ruckage I am the author of the post of this forum, I saw your theme for retropie and I fell in love with it has a great look that reminds me a lot of the mini nes, I want to thank you for offering to port this theme to recalbox.
I understand that it takes a lot of work to draw all the systems so we will wait for the necessary time and we will be watching for progress. For my part I have no knowledge on the subject but if I can help you in something here you have me for whatever.
@azvarel thank you very much for contacting @ruckage.
Greetings and thanks.
No problem. I can't give a time frame for when I will port it but I have a list of systems I'm working on for Retropie and once they are done I can look into porting it to recalbox - I don't think it will be too difficult but it's best to do once the theme is complete otherwise I would need to maintain several different versions.

Hi @ruckage !
i hope you can do a 240p 4/3 version of your theme when finished, would be wonderfull on a CRT
Anyway, great job !
Hi. A 4x3 version is planned though probably not in 240p as the graphics are based on a 270 pixel height image as that divides cleanly into 1080p which was my target resolution.

@ruckage One question though : I thought that pads and buttons are not themable (yet ?). So I'm curious to know how you changed the dpad and buttons
Hi. As @rockaddicted says it's just an "extra" image as it was the best way to do it currently.
Not sure if recalbox supports carousel theming yet but it's recently been added to Retropie so I re-themed the system carousel as well. It uses the <feature> tag so on versions of ES that don't support the carousel theming it will still work and reverts back to the the old logos.
Here is a video of the new carousel in action, you can also see all of the systems supported so far:
