      Hi all..I have recalbox working great on my pi3. Works fine on my hdtv with hdmi. But now I want to use my old 17 inch vga monitor. I brought this converter http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/172314859061
      I am not getting any signal now. Monitor is a LG L1753s. 1280x1024 75hz.
      Any help would be greatly appreciated.

            Thanks for help. I have tried for the last 2 hours and still no luck. Might have to up for a hdmi monitor. This vga was just sitting in shed doing nothing.

              @furnibird Have you tried adding the following lines at the beginning of your ./boot/config.txt file and see if it could improve your problem ?

              hdmi_force_hotplug=1
              hdmi_ignore_edid=0xa5000080
              config_hdmi_boost=4
              hdmi_group=1
              hdmi_mode=1

                @gkralicek2 Do I change each on in the config or copy this at the bottom of config file.

                  @furnibird if you already have some of the lines, just place a # before each so that they're ignored at bootup and cut/paste the block i gave you at the end of your config.txt

                    @gkralicek2 ok I commented all. And added text under the NOOBS Auto gen and still nothing. I read that group for vga was 2 dmt and my monitor mode would be 35.?

                      @furnibird dmt (hdmi group 2) mode 35 is 1280*1024. If this correspond to your monitor native resolution you can go for it. You can also try dmt mode 4 (640x480) which is fail safe res that should be accepted by any monitor.
                      If you still got nothing after trying that then it could be you got a faulty hdmi-> vga converter or your monitor vga input is fried. Dunno 😞
                      If you got a multimeter you could check on the vga converter if you got voltage on the R, G, B pins (should read something between 0.5v and 1v). If no voltage then converter might be the source of the problem. If voltage is there then it's a monitor issue.

                        @gkralicek2 could be the cheap converter as I just tried it on same tv with vga input and get nothing. Will get the real deal pi convert and try that. Thanks for help.

                                  @furnibird That's even better as far as this converter comes straight from the official pi shop in UK. This way there is very little chance you would be disappointed with an incompatible or DOA unit. Anyway, I hope this will solve your problem.
