8bitdo SF30 Pro and M30 Cannot configure
-
Hi, I have 2 SF30 Pro on firmware 1.37 and 2 M30 on firmware 1.14.
Once the controllers are connected via bluetooth it is impossible to configure inputs.
I have read different threads saying that the problem is the firmware version but it is not the case with my controllers. Both firmware versions are not the latest, both are listed as supported in the Recalbox support page.
All 4 controllers on the same firmware used to work flawlessly on Recalbox 7.
Is there any way to edit manually the button assignment? The buttons work in the recalbox interface, they even work if I start a game. The problem is the button configuration, if I don't do that, I cannot assign a button exit the games.

Hi @Valippo
Controllers and pads are subject of a special attention for the 9.2 version. Anyway, i report your case to devs that may be interested by your 8bitdo model (i don't know if someone own the SF30 pro or the M30 models). -
If needed, I can help with beta testing.
What is important to note is that the same controllers worked flawlessly on recalbox 7.x.
Let's just go back to the previous configuration. -
@Valippo I've also had similar issues with SFC30 and NES 30 Pro controller.
They seem to work ok in the EmulationStation menu. But when i enter the games, both player 1 and player 2 inputs are wrecked.on top of that, during configuring controllers, the buttons are mostly unable to be configured

Hi, I have the same probem that @Valippo.
I have a SFC30 8bitdo gamepad that works fine on the previous 8.x.x version of recalbox (raspberry 4 or 3)
I have updated the SFC30 firmware to 4.20.
I start the pad with START + R.
The SFC30 is well paired and recognized by the recalbox but impossible to configure it.
At the configuration step, when the recalbox interface ask me to press a button, nothing happen, I have tried all button sbut the recalbox seems to not detects inputs on the SFC30.
Here is my configuration :
Raspberry 4 2GB
NEPSI 4 Case
SFC30 8 bitdo gamepad
Thank you for your feedback. -
@mitcharnaud There's something strance with your firmware's pad.
The latest version is 1.38. You said you install v4.20.

Are you sure you install the good firmware ?
Or do you own a different pad than the 8bitdo SF30 ? -
For information, with the following configuration:
- recalboxOS 9.1-Pulstar
- RPi4b 8Gb
- 16Gb SanDisk SD Card
- 1Tb USB3 SSD (initialized mode "Move share")
- 8bitdo SF30 Pro pad (v1.34 latest firmware)
I was able to reproduce @Valippo explained issue.
I was also able to fix it following procedure:- Launch Bluetooth sync procedure from both Recalbox pad menu and SF30 Pro pad sync button
- Bluetooth sync SF30 Pro pad successfully
- Disconnect any other pad (Virtual pad or other bluetooth sync pad) from Recalbox
- Launch buttons configuration with freshly SF30 Pro sync pad (now input are working and recognized)
Hope it helps
