Unsolved MAME appears to be broken in Recalbox 8.

@Bkg2k @pitch64 Well, tried disconnecting my Dolphin bar, and every single one of the 40ish MAME light gun games that didnt work all worked fine with it unplugged.

Im guessing that whatever went wrong with the PS1 light gun games in Recalbox 7 has unfortunately happened with MAME in 8.x, ie Point Blank and all the other PS1 light gun games wouldnt load if the Dolphin bar was plugged in.

Bkg2k and Pit64, Ive included you guys in this post in case you are unaware of this issue.

why did i update? fb-neo games (street fighter 3, ...) crash occasionally, or don't boot (black screen, have to pull the plug)...

everything worked perfectly before.

can someone help? if the solution is to install everything from scratch i will never ever update anything again!

Same Problem!
It's mostly lightgun games, like "Operation Wolf" and so on. I noticed that if I disconnect the "DolphinBar" they work again. I'm back to Recalbox 7.2.2 now, too many bugs in version 8, for example with controllers...

In case it can be useful, I have just opened the following issue. At the end a workaround is commented to be able to work temporarily.

@retrovadus I don't have a Lightgun so I can't test it, but in the issue you opened you mention that you have MAME 2003 plus and MAME 2010 ROMS, but do you have them separated into folders with a Configuration override file?
If not, can you try to do this?

Hi, i've got an issue with the lightgun game house of the dead on Mame, if the lightgun is plugged hotd doest load but if its not plugged the game load, I dont know why?! And im with recalbox 8.1.1 on a raspberry4. Any ideas? Thanks

@guile64 it seems that they still haven't solved this problem, not even in this last recent update it had, because my pistol games only open if the dolhpin bar is disconnected, but even if I connect it later, it doesn't work. shot has no effect
