Have a few questions - Going from Retropie to Recalbox

Hello Recalboxers! I love making these little retro-machines and recently I´ve been building some small "consoles" with Retropie. But Im reading more and more into Recalbox and some of the functions that it has, just seems a little more easy accessible.

But I have a few questions that I hope you could help me with. And I'm sorry if these questions are already a thing in Recalbox.

• Is it possible to hide boot text and raspberry icons on startup?
• Is it possible to hide Emulation station loading?
• Is it possible to add custom emulator launch splashes?
• Is it possible to use themes made for Retropie on Recalbox?
• Is it possible to add BG music, either by installing custom script or via gui?
• Is it possible to fix resolution to 4:3 without cropping?

Recalbox just seems a bit "cleaner" and it seems to run N64 games better.
If this is posted on the wrong side of the forum, I hope someone can move it. Hope I don't seem rude or anything asking these bunch of questions.

Boot logs don't show on recalbox

Is it possible to hide Emulation station loading?

Nope.

Yep

Precise example ? I'm not sure i understand.

One small thing : you can't sell recalbox (nor retropie), both use some non commercial licensed softwares

No I would never sell. I build and rebuild for myself as a hobby ^^
Those questions you said Nope to, is it possible to "fix" that via scrips or something like that?

And with the cropping, on Retropie, nes games gets a bit cropped. Both on left, right, and down. You can fix that by changing some settings in Retroarch.

Nope :DDDDDDDD

We dont have that runcommand thing, and din't feel like there is time for adding some image meanwhile. I'd rather optimize the loading speed stuff inherent to recalbox

Regarding cropping : some cores offer the ability to uncrop with a simple switch. To my knowledge, this is mostly for NES where cores autocrop the picture for some unknown reason (emulate the cet overscan ?)

Regarding RP themes ... Well they do partly work. Some day i should write a wizard to convert them ... Anyway, i'm personnaly not in that theming stuff (which i hardly care about), but some.people love porting themes from RP, they probably know much better than me

I'm very tempted to try Recalbox. I think I spend more time playing around with settings then playing games xD But It sounds like Retropie are more suited to my needs atm.

But looking at some Youtube videos. N64 games seems to run better. I might just install Recalbox and see just how well it will run N64 games.

@lesk that's just a simple sd to test. Then you configure your pads in ES once for all, and configuration is over most of times
