Switched to Batocera (ironically the same [[EXACT TO THE LETTER!]] configuration settings I was using found the recalbox wiki for setting up smb over a wired network that didn't work, worked [[EXACT TO THE LETTER!]] on Batocera.

¿Estás seguro que no lo monta? /dev/hdb1 no es un punto de montaje, solo es el nombre del disco en otra nomenclatura.

Copia y pega lo que te dice df, copia y pega tu fstab también, estate atento a los nombre de las carpetas, en teoría no es necesario que la crees tu manualmente ni darle permisos, al menos en un sistema GNU/Linux estándar.
