Recalbox 18.04.20 is out!

@supernature2k Thanks for the answers i really like the pop ups. They give a modern look & feel.
Can you cofirm as well the following thing?
This is maybe a bug: If I go to advanced settings and i move to the VRAM settings, the cursor just move further, just like I would keep my button pressed. It happens only on the vram entry in both directions.
-
@lackyluuk looks like this is a bug, working on it!
-
Don't know if this is a bug that requres a new topic, or just a little usability issue that the devs could be already tracking . The new battery indicator shows the battery of the last controller connected:
- Connected Player1 through bluetooth = 50% battery is shown;
- Connected Player2, that has more battery = 75% battery is now shown, replacing the current icon;
And again, thanks for this wonderful release
-
@nwildner whaaaaaat ? On which board?
Thisbis supposed to show laptop battery level, not controllers -
@supernature2k Raspberry Pi 3. And it is showing the controller battery as i described above
I took a look at the EmulationStation code and read
SDL_GetPowerInfo
, and it does not seems to handle "multiple batteries" neither identify what kind of battery is being used through/sys
dev filesystem. Maybe that's why i have this behavior that, the last controller connected is shown as battery inside the menu(and of course, PS3 batteries have some issue of not being recognized asSDL_JoystickPowerLevel
for some weird reason). -
@nwildner thx for the feedback !
You are right, SDL has strange behavior and this battery indicator was meant for batteries in laptop.
We will restrain this to x86 as it was the arch it was made for. -
And what about PCs using PS3 clone controllers? It will be the same: Last controller connected will be the battery shown at the menu
-
@nwildner (i've been telling him for days .... Shhhhhh ...)
-
@substring nope it won't with the new way I'm handling this
-
@supernature2k And why dont you extend this method to map PS3 controllers batteries ?
A while ago, before 4.1 started to change my way to contribute with Recalbox i has helping to test PES features, and one of them was PS3 Controllers battery - https://github.com/neilmunday/pes/issues/29 . Getting the contents of
/sys/class/power_supply/sony_controller_battery_<BT_MAC_ADDRESS>/capacity
should be enough(using bluez) to extend your Recalbox Battery API to this kind of controller. What do you think? (rolls a d20 and quietly exits the tavern while creating a request)...

Nice work guys! Looks very nice.
@martin-steiner said in Recalbox 18.04.20 is out!:
Nice work guys. The only things that keeps me from migration is the lack of videosnaps. I don't understand that... Why?
What do you mean? Do not have plans to support videosnaps? Sorry for the English, I speak Spanish

I have a speed issue with this update, all games run slow, any solution?, y update from raspberry pi 3...
-
There is something wrong with themes.
When i turn back to the original Recalbox Theme (I don't like Recalbox-Next) the system is freezing, stop workinkg at all. Just black screen. -
originally used recalbox a few years back then tried batocera, thought it would be a nice setup but since trying your latest version, wii and gamecube run at a great speed compared to batocera. Only grip is the loading time is three times longer, guessing there is more under the hood as it is loading. Any chance .wads will be added for wiiware? I've added it manually to the systems config and it works but it's mixed in with the wii, could I just create a wii ware folder and assign dolphin to it? great setup you have going though!!!
-
@peanutwarrior do you mean dolphin can read straight away .wad files ? Please xreate a new topic
-
@substring yes. I loaded a Wii game first hotkeyed to exit the game to get to the dolphin emulator front end from there located the wad file as emulationstation wasn't picking it up for sonic and it ran. So I added .wad to the systems cfg and it runs fine. Not sure automatic scraping will work because of the different file type, but still nice collection of games available. I'll post a new topic if it helps others. Might be worth making a WiiWare folder.
-
@peanutwarrior adding .wad to supported extensions is like killing babies with axes
-
@villaformer I have the same problem.
