I think the devs reasoning is that it displays the logo of the team that works hard to bring this awesomeness to us and they feel this is a small trade-off to show that logo always. I personally can live with that, it make little difference really and recalbox is so much better than retropie for me. All that being said I would be glad to see an option to show an additional splashscreen after recalbox's maybe even with a settable time on screen.

I agree, keeping the Recalbox splash helps spread the word, but they should allow a custom screen after their logo (or even a video splash screen like Recalbox).
