Move files from Computer to microsd via Reader?
-
I'm kind of fed up with how long it's taking to transfer small files over WIFI. Plus, I can't get WIFI to work consistently. Is there a way to transfer my ROMs directly by plugging my microsd into the card reader on my computer? I tried before, but the file system looked completely different than it did on WinSCP. I'm using Windows 10.

@userreddit No, not possible.
You can use usb key as storage and then use that on your computer, it will be much faster and it's better anyway
-
@voljega Hmm, what about ethernet? I tried to plug my Pi3 into ethernet and it didn't work. Is there a way to force the Pi3 to use ethernet so that the transfer goes faster?
-
@voljega I will probably use a USB stick for some. However, I have a lot of multiplayer games that I would like to have my USB slots open for. Yes, I could use a powered hub, but I'm trying to keep this setup portable.

@userreddit it should work on ethernet, debug your connection with your box
-
@voljega I'm not sure how to go about debugging it. I'm an absolute noob.
-
@userreddit look in the menu of EmulationStation if your pi gotvan ip adress and if it's only numbers
-
@voljega I mean, it shows my IP address if that's what you mean. There has to be a faster way to get the roms onto the microsd card.
-
@userreddit I meant with ethernet, not wifi !

@userreddit read the forum and the wiki, please!
Wirh your usb plugged in, you can use the file manager from within kodi as well and have an interface.
Another option could be to use a live cd with any linux distribution, like ubuntu.
