Unfortunately, this looks like both a huge disappointment and a distaster in the making.
First, the backporting of the fixes seems to mostly not work on the roms from the 0.78 romset, according to several messages in the thread you'll need to get the rom corresponding to the mame version of the backported fix..
And this can be any Mame version between 0.78 and 0.161 apparently without any documentation about which one to find.
Much worse and frankly worrying, again according to some message in the thread, it seems that they didn't even bother to test the old romset to see if it was still working, there is an explicit message about the backporting on one Sega System previously which broke ALL Sega systems... and this is just eight days ago.
So we get a new mame 0.78 for which backported fixes won't work unless you find for each backported fix the right rom inside a decade of mame evolution and whose original roms have no guarantee of working anymore ....
Du coup je confirme il n' y a plus de bug de son pour "NBA Jam Hang Time" et "Mortal Kombat 2".
Par-contre sur "Mortal Kombat 1" en arcade toujours ça bug au niveau du son genre au lieu de dire fight ça dit finish him...idem quand on sélectionne un combattant au lieu de prononcer son nom ça dit dit aussi finish him..Obliger de passer sous "Advance Mame" pour qu'il marche correctement ce qui est assez frustrant car sur "AdvanceMame" les touches sont inversés.....J'espère que ce problème pourra être régler à l'avenir.

@voljega from my understanding, the 0.78 romset has been improved , but many fixes will need future romsets. For the simple user, he can just ignore it and use the 0.78. For somebody that wants to have all possible working roms for mame, an extra .dat about these new working roms must be created. I remember the author mentioned one specific romset to use (which I couldn’t find yet), so it shouldn’t be that difficult.

toutes les version de mame en standalone, sont capables avec la bonne ligne de commande de créer un fichier dat contenant tous les infos du romset necessaire, à voir si c'est faisable avec le mame version libretro.
Car sinon ca risque d'être impossible de trouver le bon romset si le type prend des roms dans un peu tout les autres romsets.

Avec Libretro c'est pareil VDD. Tant pis merci je vais faire avec Advance Mame en attendant une pro maj le jeu est plutot stable c'est juste les commandes ou il faut s'y faire.
@cissou oui mais je ne pense pas qu'il ait mis à jour l'executable de mame2003 avec les roms changées. Et puis ça nous dirait juste le bon MD5 ou CRC32, pas dans quelle version de romset elle se trouve, ce serait déjà pas mal ceci dit.
pour qui sait créer un romset, j'oserai dire qu'on s'en fout de savoir de quel romset sont tirées les roms.
Ça c'est pour les crevard qui veulent des packs tout prêts.

@cissou si tu sais pas de quel romset la rom fonctionnelle vient il va bien falloir la trouver, et bon courage si elle a été mis à jour de manière répétée pendant dix ans...
Multiplie ça par le nombre de roms concernées par ces backports de fix et ça donne une ampleur du problème...
Maintenant si ça te fait kiffer de chercher entre 50 et 100 fois pour chaque rom 'corrigée' dans potentiellement une centaine de romset différents quelle est la bonne rom tant mieux, personnellement je ne crois pas que c'est être un crevard de dire que ça n'a pas un très grand intérêt et qu'il vaut mieux attendre un pi plus puissant ou changer de plateformes et utiliser un romset plus récent plutôt que de se prendre la tête avec ces backports qui ont l'air plutôt mal branlés
