PSX Light gun Games not working
-
Hi. I'm unable to start PSX light gun games when Dolphin bar is connected in mode 2. It returns to game list.
Only occurs with lightgun games, the rest of PSX games work well. Also when Dolphin bar is unplug, the light gun games load and work well (but with joystick).
I'm on RP4 8GB with 7.2.2-Reloaded.
Tried to restore Factory Settings, still not working.
Tried with RP4 4GB, not working.
Tried games .BIN and .ISO, not working both.
Other modes in dolphin bar dont work.I don't know what is wrong, please help

@moyo_ml Tried a fresh install and still not working. Is a problem in 7.2.2? Ive seen videos of 7.2 playing PSX light gun very well
-
@moyo_ml See this topic, it seems to be the same problem:

@zing Yes, I read it. But some people say is a problem in RPI3 or RPI3+, for me is RP4
Also some say that some games are working fine, for me is totally impossible play any PSX game.
I saw some videos playing Time Crisis in PSX for 7.2, but in 7.2.2 is impossible. Older versions work better for PSX light gun?

@moyo_ml Every PSX light gun game I have refuses to load on my Pi4 running 7.22
Unplug the bar, game then loads fine.
There is definitely a problem.The games clearly work, so im thinking its related to code in the background of the pre populated list of PSX games in the light gun section that is causing it to "trip over" and fail to load.

@rustymg & @moyo_ml If this really is a bug, please open an issue detailing the problem and reference this topic:

@zing Hi,
I and others mentioned this 1 or 2 releases ago, and was told on here it was a known issue and was being looked at.Found this from 3 months ago. At the time I didnt spot that all games not working were light gun PSX games, but yeah, issue clearly been present since 7.21 at least.

@rustymg Sorry, I understand your situation, but unfortunately I don't see an open issue that describes this type of problem, and the ideal after a bug is proven, the user opens an issue.
I believe the problem was somehow confused with this:
https://gitlab.com/recalbox/recalbox/-/issues/1721Please open an issue, the forum serves to filter out false bug flags, for users to help each other with testing and configuration, but when there really is a bug, only a developer can help.

@zing Hi,
Ive never used Gitlab before. I'm thinking I need to register first ?
Once registered, where exactly do I raise issues?
There are a few that no one seems to have mentioned, eg no VIC20 games now work on the 7.22 build, and there are errors with the Pico8 setup, as it displays the "downloaded_images" folder I'm amongst the actual games.
I will raise those issues if you can help me figure out how to -

Once registered, where exactly do I raise issues?Yes, you need to create an account, but it's pretty simple, sign up here (as you can see, it's possible to create an account using a google/twitter/github account):
https://gitlab.com/users/sign_upOnce logged in, go to the issues page and click on "New issue":
https://gitlab.com/recalbox/recalbox/-/issues/Before creating a new issue, use the search box and see if there is already an issue with the same issue, if there is, just vote positively and leave a comment to "support": you will notice that at this moment there are 233 issues open , and the developer team is very small, so issues that affect more people tend to be prioritized.

I understand your point of view, but please try to understand that it is not recommended that you open thousands of issues for every POSSIBLE bug you find, as I mentioned in the previous post, the forum serves to filter "false bugs": when no other user reported the problem, there is a possibility that it is not a bug, but some kind of mishandling by the user.
Following this line of reasoning, it is recommended that you first open a thread here on the forum, and then other people can try to test the problem, or confirm the bug.
Yes, sometimes the bug does exist and nobody noticed but you, but please understand that if all users directly decide to open an issue without getting a second opinion first, our small team of developers won't even be able to analyze them all: the more users can help each other without relying on developers, the more free time developers have to improve our beloved Recalbox system.Since you are a very active and interested user, I think it would be interesting for you to participate in the official Discord too, there are usually more users online simultaneously there, many users prefer to use discord:
