Vertical mame games

Hi, i have build a cabinet with a rotating monitor, so i can play vertical games like arkanoid. Is there a way to have vertical games start rotated?

menu mame -> R2 Button or TAB keyboard.
or
in retroarch > quick menu options > tate mode.

@acris - I managed to rotate the screen 90deg, but now all games, even the horizontal ones play rotated. Is there a way to apply the rotation only to vertical games?

@proteusy by the way, the TATE mode should only work for games where height is bigger than width (therefore games with a rotation). It shouldn't rotate all games. Anyway the TATE mode has a fail : it doesn't rotate according to what the "rom driver" specs. So, it works fine with roms that are ROT90, but ROT270 games are upside down.
