Solved Problem with TV Samsung 40"
-
Hi guys,
Since when I had the Raspberry Pi 3, I have always used the Recalbox since its installation on a LG TV 22"
I was switching it to a 40" Samsung TV model LN40C530, Recalbox simply hangs when entering the main screen, making me force the switch off by pulling the plug, as it does not answer the control commands or the GPIO on / off switch.I used the same HDMI cable, changed the cables, tested on all HDMI ports on the TV, although I know the ports work perfectly with other appliances with bluray and satellite receiver.
I searched here and did not find anything similar, is it screen resolution problem?
TV LG 22 "has as resolution: 1360x768
TV Samsung 40 "has the resolution: 1920x1980I found these documentations here:
Https://github.com/recalbox/recalbox-os/wiki/Video-configuration-detailled-(EN)
Https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentation/configuration/config-txt.md
Http://elinux.org/RPiconfig#Video_mode_optionsWhat I did was put in config.txt
hdmi_group = 1
hdmi_mode = 4Following the documentation and worked.
The strangest thing is that I picked up another microsd card and did a new install of the recalbox by connecting the raspberry pi to the TV 40" Samsung and the same is working normally in 1080p.
What would be the reason for the recalbox or the raspberry pi, if it loses and hangs? Because it should work perfectly on any TV exchange, since in config.txt hdmi_group and hdmi_mode are disabled.

what do you call "main screen" ?

Hi
You must have changed some other parts of recalbox but you don't remember which ones
-
@Substring I did not change anything, the only change I made was to have removed the .iso .bin extensions for the PSX emulator, in addition to having upgraded to the version 4.0 final.
-
@azvarel we're lacking quite some info here ... Like your samsung tvsercice valid modes, what was your global.videomode before, if you compared your config.txt with the one shipped with recalbox ...
-
## Set game resolution for emulators ## select your mode from the command : tvservice -m [MODE] ## CEA 5 HDMI : 1920x1080 @ 60Hz 16:9, clock:74MHz interlaced ## CEA 4 HDMI : 1280x720 @ 60Hz 16:9, clock:74MHz progressive ## use 'default' for using the default resolution ## (string) global.videomode=default
I tried the 3 modes
-
@azvarel i need your available cea and dmt mode from tvservice. See the wiki you mentionned if you don't know how yo do it
-
-
Nope i meant
tvservice -m CEA
-
Group CEA has 14 modes:
mode 1: 640x480 @ 60Hz 4:3, clock:25MHz progressive
mode 2: 720x480 @ 60Hz 4:3, clock:27MHz progressive
mode 3: 720x480 @ 60Hz 16:9, clock:27MHz progressive
(prefer) mode 4: 1280x720 @ 60Hz 16:9, clock:74MHz progressive
mode 5: 1920x1080 @ 60Hz 16:9, clock:74MHz interlaced
(native) mode 16: 1920x1080 @ 60Hz 16:9, clock:148MHz progressive
mode 17: 720x576 @ 50Hz 4:3, clock:27MHz progressive
mode 18: 720x576 @ 50Hz 16:9, clock:27MHz progressive
mode 19: 1280x720 @ 50Hz 16:9, clock:74MHz progressive
mode 20: 1920x1080 @ 50Hz 16:9, clock:74MHz interlaced
mode 31: 1920x1080 @ 50Hz 16:9, clock:148MHz progressive
mode 32: 1920x1080 @ 24Hz 16:9, clock:74MHz progressive
mode 33: 1920x1080 @ 25Hz 16:9, clock:74MHz progressive
mode 34: 1920x1080 @ 30Hz 16:9, clock:74MHz progressive

@azvarel said in Problem with TV Samsung 40":
(native) mode 16: 1920x1080 @ 60Hz 16:9, clock:148MHz progressive
Standard Full HD (CEA 16) should be supported
-
@Substring
It was placed before, and even then it did not work, the recalbox hangs. -
I found out why the recalbox is catching on TV, at 1080p resolution, it was the zoid theme that was messing with the recalbox.
I put the default recalbox theme and it is working normally.

@azvarel woot ^^

well, I didn't purchase recalbox, but I wanna know if it can help my problem, if it is yes, i would like to buy it, my Samsung 55" Smart TV will not play two MP4 files I have on a WD HDD (Plugged into the USB Port). Both files display "The selected file is not currently supported". I searched at http://www.videoconverterfactory.com/tips/samsung-tv-mp4.html. and https://community.netgear.com/t5/Stora-Legacy/Why-can-t-I-watch-mp4-files-on-my-TVs/td-p/434351 but they all failed by some unknown reasons, so I really wanna know recalbox can help me or not???Please

@dayfluent This has definitely nothing to do here ... That's a TV problem, no link with recalbox.
-
@dayfluent to add a bit to @Substring 's answer... recalbox is free and should not be bought. What you can buy is the hardware to run recalboxOS.
