Kodi shows a date of 1969, how do I change it?

 I'm running the latest stable build of RecalBox on a Rasberry Pi 3. It's kinda cool because you can click on current movies and see what was popular in 1969 and before, but I want to watch modern stuff too... Research says this is partly due to the Rasberry Pi not having a system clock.

 are you sure your Pi has ntp working ?

 @Substring how do I check? I sshed into the Pi and tried checking the system clock but the command didn't work

 @dougefresh ssh and type date

 @Substring January 1 CET 1970

 @dougefresh now you know why : ntp doesn't work ^^

 Did you connect your RPI to internet?
-

 @rockaddicted Of course.

 still looks like you can't set date and time according to the ntp server that was defined
