Xbox 360 wireless controller button options missing
-
Hello community! I have read around and googled this with no prevail but maybe some of you may help me. I am pretty tech savy when it comes to windows and so far i have had a smooth transition so far in rasberry pi and recalbox.
However, i just got a Microsoft wireless adapter to use my xbox 360 controllers. Im having issues configuring the controllers, I have already enabled xboxdrv and deselted ps3 controllers, played with settings, tried to see if i can manually adjust in some file or folder but im still stuck.
So to make it clear and easy this is exactly whats happening. When i configure the controller it only gives the option Up left Up left. There is NO DOWN or RIGHT.
Main reason why i want both of those to work is for games such as ocarina of time on the n64, i will need to use the C yellow buttons in the game.

@blackmagik joystick 2 is your the second (right) joystick of your controller. Right and down get automatically configured when you set up and left.
-
@paradadf Thats what i thought but in game it is not working for games. Only the up and left are working inside n64 games. Just did a full wipe and restarted and its still the same. I watched some tutorials and other peoples config when setting up the controller does not look like that. Thanks for a speedy response. Anything you think I might be able to try?

@blackmagik you are not on version 4.0.0 beta 5, right? On which device are you using recalbox? Not a RPi I guess.
Edit: I re-read that you wrote raspberry pi. Are you using beta 5?
-
@paradadf Yes sir I downloaded and am using recalboxOS 4.0.0-beta5. Is that what my issue is? I thought that was the newest version?
-
@blackmagik no no, you are using the correct version. I have that issue with an alpha version. It should be working for you though.
-
@paradadf just got it working. I was just configuring it wrong. It has to be on joystick. Thank you very much! Now just have to find out how to shut off the blinking light on the controller. Im sure xboxdrv should do the trick!
-
@paradadf I have enabled xboxdrv, turned off ps3 to 0 and tried making 1 controller instead of 2 and also re config the controller in game. Any chance you know how to fix the blinking green light?
-
@blackmagik I think the blinking leds are a known problem, so
no solution for the moment.About the sticks... I have no idea. Maybe someone else that reads this knows how to proceed, sorry.What you can do to speed things up is share this file with us:
https://github.com/recalbox/recalbox-os/wiki/Recalbox-support-(EN)Update: I just saw you got it working.
-
@paradadf No no you were great. I just wanted to change them up cause button config is weird on same gamesbut its working and thats all that matters. I found out how to fix the flashing light earlier but now i cant seem to replicate. If i figure it out i will post in here to help someone else with the same problem.
Thank you Paradadf for everything!

@blackmagik that's what she said .

@paradadf hahaha GOT EM! Yeah that was the first thing i tried. That worked for me last time but now its not. hehe Ill just put duct tape over it worse case scenario. I dont know how to bring up CMD on recalbox. Im sure i have to have a dual boot with linux on it to do that right? I could fix if i had cmd but the f4 doesnt bring it up as some people state it should.

@blackmagik after F4 press ALT+F2

Installed putty, used recalbox ip and logged in with "root" as login and "recalboxroot" as password. Should of read better. >.<
-
xboxdrv --detach-kernel-driver --trigger-as-button --wid 0 --led 2 --deadzone 4000 --silent & sleep 1
in cmd through putty as recalbox ip worked!
EDIT:
Made controller non responsive, did reboot and its back

I have no idea about development stuff, sorry. It is only weird that it isn't working for you.
