Mode Vertical / Tate Recalbox 8
-

@zing - How about with an X86_64 build of Recalbox 8 using a good old fashioned VGA port, is there a way to rotate the screen to 90/180/270 degrees? I've looked all over but can't seem to find any solution to what should be a trivial exercise - everything I find either talks about Raspberry Pi rotating their HDMI ports using config.txt or emulationstation.conf files which don't exist on Recalbox 8...
-_-
I would've thought there's so many people using vertical/portrait screens that this would be in some configuration how-to somewhere, but frustratingly, just isn't found anywhere!!

@bugeyedcreepy Yeah I am really surprised that this is not at all worked on. There is so many old games in tate mode, I can't understand why this is not an option.
I guess we are not that many to ask for it ?
Anyway, I had to quit Recalbox because of that... -

I searched and found some posts talking about this, although they are about old versions, the procedure should work in the latest version, but unfortunately I can't test it at the moment, can you test and give feedback about it?
First, if the intention is to rotate the screen exclusively for some games, I recommend the option of creating an configuration override file:
https://wiki.recalbox.com/en/advanced-usage/configuration-override/retroarch-overrides#screen-rotationAs it seems that this is not your intention, but rather to rotate the screen for the system and all emulators, I recommend that you first read the tutorial on configuring external screens on PCs, especially the part that talks about xrandr (which is the command you will need to test):
https://wiki.recalbox.com/en/tutorials/video/display-configuration/external-screen-configurationIn addition to the functions described in the official Recalbox documentation, the xrandr command has several other options, there is a complete list at this link:
https://www.commandlinux.com/man-page/man1/xrandr.1.htmlThe function you are looking for is:
xrandr --output XXXX --rotate leftIn this post a user claims he did it, and explains how he did it:
https://forum.recalbox.com/topic/21762/config-txt-en-v7/6But I also found another post that mentions this command:
